Good game, but RE1 Remake is much better.
As much as I like RE2 2019, I think RE1 remake is a better game and a much better remake. RE2 Remake holds your hand a lot, it wants to appeal more to the casual audiance. It's inferior to the original because the B scenarios have much less changes than in the OG. The zapping system that made RE2 1998 so ahed of it's time and unique has been completely removed, and they cut out 4 enemy types, the crows, spiders, giant moth, and the stronger versions of the lickers. The new music is either dull or non existant, I can only play it with the OG soundtrack swap. It's a good game overall but as a remake it's a little bit dissapointing. These reviews perfectly points out the problems with the game. https://youtu.be/Cqr69w5wSx4

There's no such thing as RE1 Remake, only a Remaster, learn the difference.

It's a remaster of a remake that came out originally for the GameCube in 2002. Do your research before you start typeing nonesense...

You're posting this on Steam, the only game on Steam is a Remaster, do your own research or post in an appropriate forums, not the wrong ones. + comparing games that are almost 2 decades apart is really dumb, as everything changed, from standards to controls.

Which one is "better" is always subjective. I always prefer with recent graphics no matter how it sucks. Cheers.

RE(1) Remake exists since 2002.

OP's comparisson is totally fair, and in fact a lot of fans agree that the first RE Remake is still definitely the best one. It's the only one that truly captures the original's gameplay and feeling from start to end. RE2 has a good start but basically gives a crap past the RPD. And RE3 is anything but RE3.

It doesn't change the fact that it's a REMAKE. Original Resident Evil 1 came out in 1996, and they completely remade the game in 2002 for the GameCube. The RE1 Remaster that is available here is the GameCube version but improved. They are Exactly the same! Remaster of a Remake. Come on man use your brain.

Exactly, thank you. RE1 Remake kept everything from the original and improved them where it was needed, plus added some new stuff that made sense. It find perfect balance.
It's called the RE1 Remake. Not the Remaster. Therefore it's the Remake.
