Xbox One controller, A and B buttons inverted?
Has anybody using Xbox one controller experienced the A button actually been the B button on the Type A configuration?

You can go to the controller settings from the main menu and choose the one you want to use. Not sure if that would help. I currently use the xbox 360 controller so I can't comment on that.

I'm coming here because I have the exact same issue.
Xbox one elite pad.
I press "B" to accept, this is so weird.

Enable controller config on steam, and check if the controls are properly setup.

Thanks. This is the only game that has this issue, over hundreds.
I've restared the game and at first the pad wasn't working in the game anymore so I've replugged it and the issue disappeared. I'll see next time I play the game.

Well, I'm 3 years over but here's is what I found and what solved my game. In case people stumble upon the post.
So, Steam > Controller Settings > General Controller Settings - Untick Nintendo layout.
Lots of other useful features there.
