That depends on you, do you think you'll replay it to get ALL of the achievements?
I have 50+ hrs and Im not bored of hit yet.
Plus you have Claire B, which is different then A, and you get the full ending scene.
Plus they have free mini campaigns that could last 10 minutes to an hour, depending how many times you die.
Also you can play with Claire with a nude mod which looks really good, if you enjoy that kind of thing. I won't tell lol
It is a remake of a classic horror zombie game. The atmosphere is dark and claustrophobic. Enemies can be tough but if you play long enough you will be able to maneuver around them.
If you are looking for something that is different from your typical online shooter or open world, this game sure will hit the spot. I am happy to pay 60 dollars because I have had more of my share of time in this game to exceed that amount. Plus Capcom did an awesome job and making a game that is 20 years old relevant in today genres!
My runs so far:
Leon A: 8 hours
Claire A: 5 hours
Leon B: 4 hours
Leon B 2nd run: 3 hours
It's about learning the map and where items are. It's different for the B runs because many of the items are in different save spots and forces you to not waste time running to save rooms because on the RPD map, there are only 2 save spots on the first floor. 3 if you count the boiler room outside of the station. I only saved a total of 9 times across 3 hours on my second B run, because there were so few save spots and I like to save every few times to make sure any time my computer craps out or i make an error in forgetting an item on a later save.
Exposure and a few tyrant-altering mods make everything much easier.
- There are no "mini-campaigns", but extra hardcore stuff...
- The other character do not have a "different story", but a different partner / support character and slight event / boss changes.
- The "path through the game on second playthrough" is not different but a few puzzle items get swapped locations and there is an end boss to conclude.
Assuming one plays Leon 1st time, then Claire bis Scenario 2nd then spend some time with extras, that would be about 15 hours of worthwhile, arguably excellent (totally not "open world") content, after that is digging for crumbs that are nowhere to be found, actually...
Is it worth $60 USD? Absolutely not I would argue. Is it worth approx $40 or less on a sale? Yeah. You would be better off playing a different RE game or something like Alien Isolation if you haven't, yet, while waiting for a sale. Good game, just very limited content/playtime. I see it more as an indication of RE's future potential as a series if they take this type of gameplay, expand on it somewhat significantly, and produce a far larger quality campaign.
What are you talking about? XP
There is nothing open world in this game.
There are like a hundred rooms and corridors in the game.
That's it.
Personally I played 104 hours so far.
Longer than most open world games I own.
I own all 4 arkham batman games and my playtime in all of them adds up to 124 hours.
That means I played this game almost as long as all arkham batman games combined.
If the game is worth it highly depends if you're a fan of classic survival horror.
But no there is nothing open world here.
If you're good and you have experience you can beat the game in 2 hours.
You just beat it over and over again, get better times, unlock stuff.
Pausing by escape stops timer by the way. :)
It doesn't because you can look at the map in the inventory.
Looking at the map and figuring out which way to go next still counts as "playing" the game.
