The game is visually too dark
Adjusted the brightness slider appropriately. Jumped into the game and it's awfully dark. I barely saw the man in the gas station. Got stuck looking around where you encounter your first zombie.
I recently updated my GPU and updated the drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using hdr? I had to turn hdr off it was way too dark.

There's a color setting you can switch around i think its GBR or something and the other selection, the 2nd selection darkened up the game for me and the GBR was super bright, might give that a shot.

i play with this setup, if i do as the game say its too dark or gray.
Tried and it was just as dark. Flipped it around and just turned out gray.

Can’t find a HDR option. Where is it under?

Changed it to both options, didn’t change nothing at all.
Sadly, there's no universal fix for this problem. In my case, I had to adjust image quality down to 80%, turned off reflective surfaces, turned off volumetric lighting, and turned FPS to anything but variable. What worked for me, may not work for you.

Frankly, I have no idea what on earth Capcom was thinking nor why they haven't yet patched the brightness bug despite thousands of complaints. It's pretty telling that Nvidia hasn't even come up with a driver for RE2 when they typically release a new driver with any major game launch.

Did you play on a monitor or on a UHD TV?

I'm using the recommended setting for SRGB, game looks perfect, not too dark, not too bright, but you might have different tastes...

Depending on lighting conditions and panel type, settings will differ from user to user. The common mistake I've seen people make was to have the first two patterns disappear completely, just be sure the entire grid pattern and not part of the pattern is barely visible then adjust the final setting till the type writer is no longer visible. As for sRGB vs rec709, sRGB is for full range PC monitors and 709 is for SDR HDTVs.
If you're using HDMI and an Nvidia GPU be sure to set your display to full range RGB after a driver update. It seems to reset to limited range when using HDMI on Nvidia GPUs.

Made a quick video for a friend when they couldn't get RE7 to look just right by adjusting the color range.

Roll back driver to 399.24 if you are using Nvidia GPU

min brightness keep it in middle, max brightness middle, but put adjust the last slider. Also turn off reflective surface, this worked for me.

Turned my brightness settings all the way to the right. It’s decent but overall a bit gray for my taste. How do I revert the GPU to a previous version of itself? I have the GeForce Experience on my desktop if that’s of any use.
