How did Ada Wong survive being shot by Annette + falling dozens of meters?

I know she has a grappling gun, but the last time she was shot she was seriously injured and needed help, how could she use the grappling gun in this state and why did she not even take it out before she fell? How did she survive? Is there an official explanation?

In RE4, she has a grappling hook. I suspect she's always had gadgets on her. She's all about finesse and thinking than sheer firepower while she's doing field work.

In the original, her surviving made a lot more sense, as the canon story in the original is she died by Mr X smashing her into a container, not by falling into a black pit of nothing

Her fall could be explained with the hook. But as far as Umbrella Cronicles is cannon she get it as "gift" from Wesker. So its a plot hole since the Original.

Exactly. It's confusing why they chose to go with the non-canon fall in the remake. But I guess it was easier to do it this way...

I'm still really hoping for a "True Scenario" DLC or something in the future... but I don't wanna derail the thread here with scenario-hate...

Yeah but i still don't think its survivable. Human bones can be strong. But the impact force alone together with the fact that he smashed her on a metal console that completly was bending itin? No sorry, even if she survived she could never escape the entire laboratory Explosion. At least not with heavy wounds like this.

As i write before both deaths, Mr.X and the Abyss are not very believable to survive. Plothole.

Game full of zombies, mutants, 8ft tall bio-weapon assassins, walking plant-men (and spiders, crows, dogs and all kinds of shenanigans in the original) >> questions validity of a human 'death' by being thrown onto a metal object and/or falling into the unknown after a shot in the shoulder.

I do so love when people forget to turn their brain off when dealing with one of the scattiest gaming franchises in history that has produced more holes in its stories than a swiss-cheese factory produces all year round.

Well i just give my 2 cents. in fact you are right. But there is a difference between plot armor and someone survive animesh like. In those games everything dies at least somehow.

Ada doesn't die after Mr.X throws her into the console. She throws Leon the rocket launcher during the Mr.X boss fight. Her silhouette is shown wearing Sherry locket's still, with the G virus no less.
