Disable him from checking these off limits rooms by default but if he's chasing you - fair game
He does in fact outrun the player in HC mode. But he always misses the punch if you're running fast enough in a straight line.

This could be a nice idea for a possible RE3 Remake, since Nemesis is way more persistent and quite fast.
I assume they are going to put either the dodge mechanic from Revelations 2 or re6 in too, he's way too speedy not to have defensive moves and the dodge was in 3 anyway
I would prefer the active dodge from Revelations 2, mostly because dodging in RE3 and 6 felt pretty inconsistent at times.
I'm with you on 3, replayed it recently and there's probably a knack I'm missing but it just seemed to happen at random.
Fair enough about 6, I actually love the dodge, dive, roll, etc mechanics from 6, they work super well for Chris' campaign especially when there are lots of gun using enemies. I loved Stranglehold back in the day which had very similar mechanics which I wished more third person shooter games would use.
Of course there's Vanquish for ultimate dodge, slide, roll mechanics, but as I was typing this I was going to say 'of course that wouldn't fit in an RE game' but now I wanna powerslide around as Barry doing sick slow motion flips while blowing Tyrants away with my magnum
