shooting zombies in the head takes more than 1 bullet to kill?
i've never played any RE games before, im curious why it takes more bullets to the head to kill the zombies, while most zombie games just takes 1 bullet?

Simple they are not normal Zombies. They are more mutants than undead and the T-Virus gives them slightly regnerative abillities. You can look at the wikia for the infos.

Because it game concept. This is a survival action game, you can kill the enemies but they are quite resilient. If they died with a single bullet, the game would be broken, too easy and with no tension at all.

In fact, RE2R zombies can be killed with a single bullet when you score a critical headshot hit, but its random based.

Zombies in RE series before RE4 always were a threat.

Normally this annoys me in games, but RE is different and the game is balanced for it, if you could kill zombies with a single head shot, they would have zero threat to the game.

There's plenty of ammo in the game, you'll have a swimming pool of ammo by end game

Because it's important to maintain survival horror elements. If you compare with original version, it would take more TTK to takedown zombies, regardless game difficulty.

It is the stupid dynamic/adaptive difficulty incorporated into the game. I would much rather play the game on hardcore without it. Not only does the consistent difficulty add to the realism, it actually helps you enjoy the game with ink ribbons/less items IMO.

One shotting slow zombies in the head would not be scary and not be difficult, basically. The way to balance that is to make them run, like a lot of games have tried (Left 4 Dead), but then they aren't really zombies. Other games have made zombies minor enemies while other threats are the main challenge, or have made zombie density massive in sandbox type games.

In the original resident evil you couldn't manually aim, so you were just shooting a zombie until it died in the chest and so on, with a small chance of a headshot one hitting them which was just random luck. Since you can now aim, they've had to make it so a headshot isn't immediately fatal.

Imagine how not scary it would be if a zombie in a horror game would die with one headshot to the head It's much scarier when you think that one shot killed it but it's actually still alive that concept made me jump a few times i gotta admit.

I'm fine with them taking more than one bullet but just sometimes it feels like they eat a few too many. Also, man the critical head shots are so much harder to get this time it seems

I get what you mean even if i try my hardest i end up wasting bullets even though i manage to hit them every time.

it quite possible to take more than a few 9mm bullet to damage the human brain enough to cease it all function(dead).

human brain have many region. each have it own purpose. but for zombie, they didnt have full functional brain. they dont have memory , they cant calculate , they dont feel pain ,they cant think etc.

so they need brain to function at just minimum level. so you can think that headshot may just damage part of the brain that zombie didnt need it.

or even may be that shot didnt hit the brain. what if the headshot hit mouth? cheek? jaw? eye? nose? that kind of injury is nothing for zombie.

That would be awesome if it were true but i swear i've aimed directly at the temple But it still haven't worked out.

If we try to go as close as possible to science you should completely destroy "Motor Cortex"... Which would basically require to destroy half of the brain completely.

The whole aspect of its "survival" is stupid as are its "puzzles" & its "horror" calling it its own gen when its literally Zelda an adventure game with monsters nothing more, just given that fancy title for the sake of standing out... Lets play Zelda the Survival Adventurer Game & I promise you'll die from more holes in the ground than anything RE could toss at you...
