At what points does Mr. X disappear?

From what i understand you never truly shake him, but i hear there are segments of the game in which he simply is unavailable. When does he first “leave” the game?

In Leon's story, he's the final boss so you'll be seeing a lot of him, he disapears mid story for Claire though.

The answer to that kind of depends. It changes based on scenario and character. On A scenarios he doesn't initially show up until a little bit after the first boss fight, and stays until you go to the sewers. In B scenario's he shows up much earlier in the game, however he disappears as soon as you take the elevator to the first boss, so you can take the elevator back up before fighting the boss, and he'll be nowhere to be seen, allowing you to explore as much as you like.

When you have to solve the chess puzzle, that is when it is safe to go back to RPD.

he go aways from RPD if you leave it, while you can come back from sewers and explore it if you want.

besides on Clair story, Birkin boss will show up and instakill him at some specific timepoint, then he will never come again.

when u get back from the sewer (after u got rook plug) u can get back to PD from sewer with elevator. there is no X in pd no more.

Seems like some conflicting answers. Some say he’s gone from the PD once you take the elevator down, some say he’s only gone at that point on scenario B.

I could be wrong, I'd need to check again with my friend, but I think it goes like this (both for A and B):
Once he appears, he is ALWAYS in the RPD, even when you come back (except for Claire).
And he also appears in the lab for Leon. That's it.
So if you want less of Mr. X, you play as Claire.

Claire A He only appears in police station from where you put out the helicopter fire, til you leave the police station. There is a scripted section where you run from him down a linear corridor later but that's more of a cutscene than an actual moment of gameplay, you could only mess it up if you ran at him deliberately. You don't see him after that, but his police station chase is longer for Claire.

Leon A is the same but Leon can explore more of the police station before he triggers Mr X. He appears in Ada's section but you can quickly move onto the next area before he catches up with you, though you will probably mess up the first time and die a lot til you figure out how to advance. On subsequent playthroughs when you know the solution you can just hurry on ahead before he reaches you. Additionally Mr X will appear for 2 brief chases in the lab, but in both cases you are moving onto the next area anyway and he doesn't follow you for long. He is also the final boss but with a completely different moveset, making him effectively a new enemy.

Claire and Leon B are the same as their A scenarios except Mr X appears an additional time at the start, right after you acquire the C4 and up until you place the final medallion and escape downstairs. Since you can have the other 2 medallions in place before you trigger him it's a matter of quickly getting the last medallion and moving on.

Spawn - As you exit the STARS office after getting the battery. Stops-once you have all 3 Medals and have gone into the underground room

Spawn- when you put the fire on the chopper out. Stops- once you have 2 electric parts and go back down to the Jail/Irons office

Spawn - As you open the parking gate. Stops - as you go through the chain link fence

Spawns (as Ada) as you walk towards the blast doors when chasing Anette. Stops - once you blow the fan and dive out

Spawns - when you collect the ID in the plant room in the lab. Stops - once you get back to the hub.

Some of these are leon only and some are exclusive to A/B stories

Claire's story when you go to the sewers if I remember correctly, and you don't see anymore.

Leon's story also when you go to the sewers BUT, you'll see with Ada once (really easy to scape with no troubles), then twice in the labs (easy to scape too) and finally as final boss.

He stops being and overly attached boyfriend right after you leave the RPD parking lot for good.

you'll see him later with Leon, but nothing compared to the RPD chapter.

You are wrong.
On B Mr x is there only untill you open statue room after that you can explore RPD. He returns after you deal with fire once again. After that he will dissapear after you get into sewers

Probably because Claire isn't a primary target because she's not a STARS member. I think his mission is to hunt down the STARS only.
