Another thing is that now she's definitely way more badass than she was in the original. In RE2 she had troubles with Birkin, Mr. X, and Annette. Now her only problem in this game is Annette.

It took me a while to pick point what was wrong with her. Her model is not that bad, her facial animation is atrocious. Claire's '98 biker outfit was downgraded to alt costume while replaced with generic modern heroine / Lara Croft cosplay. And they took a beautiful real life model for Claire, then purposely made their face uglier:

It's obvious that Capcom wanted to avoid Claire being too sexy/hot, for whatever reasons they had.

I think Claire is attractive. Bare in mind this was kinda anime looking in the 90's.

Haven't heard the female players, or dudes who like dudes comment on Leon. He looks different also.

That's the gist of it, yes. He face is fine. Her facial animations are an absolute nightmare, especially when she smiles. Eyes wide open, gaping toothy grin and some odd model depression around her mouth make her look like a grown-up Bratz doll. You can see a lot of the same issues on Anette Berkin. The only reason Ada gets away with it is because her "cool" demeanour negates the need for significant facial animations.

As to the whole "feminism" angle - get over yourselves, please. If "feminism" were a concern, then the creators wouldn't have created a scene where Claire is held up at gunpoint, grabbed by the head and backhanded into a temporary spousal abuse face. Whatever happened with her face rigging, "feminism" had nothing to do with it.

She always has this imbecilic half open mouth animation in every cutscene. Also she makes faces like in cartoon in cutscenes like g1 boss fight.
