Is there a trick to knifing G1?

I usually try to knife him but he starts grabbing and I have to use up my knives, I usually try to make sure I have a mostly unused knife and two 1/3 knives so I can get some good damage before he uses them but when my knives are gone I have to finish it with frags/handgun usually, though he's mostly dead by then

I just started a Leon A HC run though and the fight was a total mess, he moved almost immediately when I started knifing and was swinging his pipe around like a windmill, made me use both full heals I brought before he grabbed and broke one of my knives. After that I had to run to get another full heal but he just smacked me in the face when I tried to knife him again, ended up having to spend like 12 shotgun shells, 2 frags and 30 handgun bullets on him, plus used a knife to escape a grab. What a mess, how could I have done this better? I think I'll still clear the run with S+ but I'm not rolling in ammo like I usually am this time and want to do better next time

What framerate are you getting? At 144 fps, I can immediately stunlock him for at least 1 full knife durability before he starts grabbing.

No trick. Just run to him and start knifing while being... Behind his right hand. Died for me in 20 seconds.

You knife him straightaway at the start he will stagger opening his eye. once he starts moving run away and shoot his eye until he falls and knife him, repeat the process. Take an extra knife just incase you do get grabbed. You can use two knives and about 10 Handgun bullets to win the fight in a min or two.

On Normal it is possible to knife eye from behind two times and he will fall again.

Yeah he usually opens his eye and then starts chain grabbing shortly into the fight and I have a bit of times between grabs to get some swings before he uses another of my knives, only this time he skipped the grabbing and started chain swinging his pipe. I guess next time I'll run when the eye opens, but my aim sucks so I struggle to knock him out of eye mode and spend ages running in circles trying to pop his eye. Guess I'll only try to knife when his eye is shut

The trick is your knife damage is tied to how high your fps is.

Hmm so if you turn your settings way down and turn v-sync off so that you get a very high framerate, you become OP with knife?

Knife dmg = 1 . High framerate and looking down while atacking + strafe make it best weapons vs bosses as u can do insane dmg and dodge atacks with strafes.

I saw a video where all the settings were dropped. Game looked like PS1 version. Tbh I kinda dug it. Game was running at like 200+ fps. They knifed the first boss in 19 slashes.

Are the low poly classic skins coming? I thought I'd red about them once. They could also be unlocked in RE6.

So people are actually bugging the game with knife broken damage due to high fps? This should be fixed, as I'm pretty sure it's not intented.
