Now I am reconsidering the approach to these games, I am thinking about going through and trying on easy modes (for ones that have them) to see if it gives the same sense of being drawn more fully into the game that RE2 RMK does, vs. the need to always be on edge and worrying about ammo and herbs.
Sure and a shotgun shot takes their head off in this one 95% of the time. I'm talking about with the handgun. It wasn't an effective strat with it.
of course it wasnt, but people will only see what they want to see.
also, you can turn off the annoying aim assist manually after you switch to assisted anyway.
BANG ON !!
1. I should probably try Assisted. Bullet sponge enemies made me give up playing the game on Normal because I wasn't having fun.
2. Some people on the Steam forums are incredibly hostile and toxic.
so lets take this onboard....
on the selection screen there is no description given for the normal mode, like there is for the other two modes. And those descriptions for each mode respectively suggest a tweak in game balancing to some degree as a direct result of developer intervention.
i think thats a fair statement to make here, after all it is even called "normal mode" which again from a development angle or point of view suggest this is the normal way for the end user to experience the game.
my problem with the normal mode comes in the form of adaptive difficulty that alters the dynamics as you progress, which presents negative inconsistencies in the gameplay and is actually a hybrid for lack of a better term of the other two modes.
my statements are born from those inconsistencies
the only complaints about headshots, sponging, inventory all come from normal and hardcore players. And they are to my mind pretty valid concerns that cannot be simply dismissed by the notion the developers dont want you too kill everything but run from them.
and i have experienced them myself by trying both other modes, and as a result i honestly believe despite some equally valid outlooks and attitudes towards assisted mode, that it is still the best mode as a result of the above.
