Why don't zombies attack one another?
If zombies are braindead things that attack things around them, how are they using tactics like banding together to gang up on just you? How do they know there's something special about just you?

Just like anything with zombies in it, even the movies. They are attracted to and can smell living flesh.

You don't eat human meat right ? That's the same with zombies.

You will find two or three zombies eating zombie corpses (shutter, lab) but not attacking each other.

Because the T-Virus was designed as mass-killer bio-weapon, turning the people who are infected into the next batch of killers. If the zombies attacked eachother, it would severly limit the usefulness of the bio-weapon.

No heartbeat, no blood pumping, rotten flesh etc.

Take your pick. It's a weapon to eradicate the living.

My problem is that Mr X's punch don't damage other enemies. It have no sense and breaks the immersion.

But then you could use Mr X to kill all the zombies in the game including the lickers and not use a single bullet. It would be too silly.

He backhands them which knocks them aside or over. I don't think it actually damages them though

The virus wants to spread and it drives the brain to do so. Infecting non-infected flesh is what it needs to propagate. We also know the virus causes mutations. It's not out of the real of possibility that it changes the olfactory glands to change it's identity cues to include living things. Perhaps a walking dead style covering yourself in the infected and moving like them might work but then again it may not as they seem to eat "decaying" flesh as well. It might even be possible they home in on your pheromones.

I saw exactly the same at 3. F Main hall balcony ! I ran arround the zombie and he knocked him on the side, but his head exploded and he died.
