Struggling with 4th Survivor. Tips?
I absolutely breezed through both campaigns, but is anyone else finding it really, impossibly tough? I got really pissed at myself as I've seen people doing no damage runs. This just takes the cake.

I've been all the way to the end but you NEED grenades and I can't force myself to stop immedietly pressing SPACE to save myself! I tried unequipping them but I end up getting grabbed by a planter and getting insta-killed. It's also annoying that the Tyrant doesn't have the same route limitations as you. You can lose him BEHIND you and he'll teleport in front of you.

Anyone got any solid must-do tips?* It's keeping me awake at night knowing thi is the 3rd day in a row I've failed at finishing it lol.

*inb4 git gud

Keep tyrant behind you on the stair way and conserve ammo also dont make pistol ammo just shotgun shells and keep two grenades for the front of PD at least 1 for ivy and another for crowd control but a flash will do the same.

Is that how I stop him teleporting? My problem here is I try to dart passed the Licker that's in that hallway so I find it hard NOT to lose the Tyrant. Then he appears at the top of the staircase with 3 other zombies and it all goes a bit sideways there...

You basically have to cheese it. If you watch most runs on YouTube you'll see what I mean.

if you are talking about HUNK look up a youtube guide, I finished it today was tough and really close made it out on critical health. One tip is that the three zombies at the beginning that rise out of the water; you can just run past them.

Try as hard as you can to save grenades for the very end of the mode. It can be super hard to get through that alleyway without at least a flash grenade. Also try to dodge the G-Adults in the sewers to save the ammo, I run forward until they both aggro then run back and go around them once I see an opening. Also I would recommend using the gunpowder to craft shotgun shells, and just shoot the legs of any zombie in your way throughout the mode. It will destroy their legs in 1 shot. Save the magnum for lickers or to stun Mr. X

Once I unlocked tofu, I started to realize a lot of routes that look like you'd need to stop and kill stuff, you can easily run past.

Notable areas:
- Every section in the sewer where zombies are climbing off the ground or slowly rising
(including the very beginning section in water), with the right angle you can slip on past right behind them

- The room after the licker, but right before the ladder that has dogs eating zombies.
(by hugging the left side, you can run right through this room without spending a shot)
--> Likewise I like to use a flash grenade in the parking garage immediately after this room

- The East office
Run towards the far left, hide behind zombie backs, when you bust out of the double doors, immediately run left (should slip on by all of them)

- The doorway to the roof (area above the ladder)
Running forward a bit then looping back around will allow you to run completely around teh G-Baby without it aggroing, but be fast to the ladder, dogs will jump at you.

edit:
- That area behind the barred door (immediately after the elevator, right befor the licker)
Run directly at the first zombie looking at you (in a white shirt) then take a quick left, angled towards the stair case. They'll scream and chase but you won't get grabbed.

General tips:

I like to use my powder for handgun ammo and shotgun shells... shotguns work best for close zombies to explode their head without having to have amazing accuracy.

I ONLY use my magnum for the plants and that stretch of zombies at the very end.
--> The plants will stagger after a single magnum shot, allowing you to run past

Save 1 grenade for that stretch at the end.. doesn't matter if it's flash or explosive (preferably explosive), but it is essential you can do something to crowd control the hoard.
(It IS possible to weave through the hoard and push them away with 2 defence items.. but it is very tricky)

If necessary, you can stagger the Tyrant with an explosive grenade
(flash will also work nicely), but personally, i recommend just taking the hit and running past.. if there aren't any other monsters close by

You can use the handgun from a distance to kill the 2 G-Babies in the sewer. If you're having trouble with the 1 that swims at you quickly, use a single magnum round to explode the lid over it's eye, then switch back to hand gun and run away for the kill.

Thanks for this mate going to put these tips to some good use!

Key things I did was make more shotgun shells with the powders. Learn which enemies are pretty safe to ignore, and run past. You can actually run straight past Mr X first time you see him for example if you run around his right side that is your left. And you really need to save a flash grenade for the staircase where X spawns in front of you. As well as some for the last area which IMO was really stupid for them to put the last room full of like 20 enemies. It's like great job nearly beating the mode now here is an area you only got a 50/50 diceroll of getting through even if you saved grenades/flash lol.

OOOMMMFFGGGGG I DID IT!!!!!!! I got an 11:58, I can rest easy now that I've done it!! I haven't been this satisfied from finishing a gaming challenge in literally years!!!

Thanks everyone for your help, I used a lot of the tactics here so I really appreciate it!

Glad you finished it.. Got one tip I didn't see mentioned, in case anyone else comes here looking for help. When the tyrant teleports in front of you, at the top of the stairs.... run up the stairs and get grabbed by a zombie close to him, he will punch you.. and it will cancel the zombie grab and you won't take damage.. can just run past em after that...I would say that worked 8 out of 10 times for me
Epic Dovahkiin Apr 13, 2024 @ 12:39pm
honestly i just gave up hardcore mode is stupid easy compared to this garbage ( i'm not even going to bother TRYING it as tofu if by some miracle i can beat it as hunk) yeah i know it's possible i've seen it done but it is way too difficult (there's a reason it never showed up again) if there wasn't like 20 zombies shoved into the end of run areas it wouldn't be that bad Mr. X is easy to avoid or stun and the early run areas are ok (that one full of dogs where you have to cross the bridge is hell though) nothing too hard to avoid
