Can't change volume while in game.
This is my first time writing a discussion so I'm going straight to the point.

I'm playing this game on a laptop (yeah, you read it right) and I have "shortcuts" on my keyboard to do things such as mute mic, disable touchpad but mainly change both brightness and volume. However, when I'm in RE2 Remake it's simply impossible to change volume, which makes quite dificult to play it while using headphones.

Anyone havig the same problem? Anyone with a possible fix?

P.S.: I'm playing in borderless, but the other modes don't seem to change anything.

I really wish there would be other option. Is there?

Sadly you're in the same boat as me there is no other option not yet at least.

This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible.
I'm using a razor blackwidow chroma v2 and it don't work either. And it's a 250 dollar keyboard.

This is a little late, but you can activate the Steam Overlay and change the volume from there if you have dedicated volume keys. It works in Devil May Cry 5 as well.

Yeah, this and Devil May Cry 5 are the two games that have it (IDK, engine maybe?).

I have a logitech headset and can change the volume on the keyboard. But with this game the keyboard does not work either.
However, my headphones have a volume wheel and there i can adjust it.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but it's 2022 and still no patch to fix the volume option from keyboard?

This sucks ass!

Nope, and Capcom has released newer games with the same issue. Resident Evil Village has this issue as well. I've pretty much started to accept that all Capcom games are just going to have this issue and Capcom seems to care less about fixing it.

What a weird issue. Googled this to make sure it wasn't just me. I remember RE 2 remake doing it, but was hoping it would have been fixed.

Seems to just be a RE Engine thing. How odd.

I recall this being fixed in some older RE Engine titles, but yeah it's annoying. If you install RE Framework (you should anyway, for some nifty QoL features) it'll also let you use hotkeys and your Windows key again.

It's not just RE that does this, other Capcom games do as well.

Yeah because RE Engine is now being used for many Capcom games like DmC 5 and Monster Hunter Rise. The upcoming Dragon's Dogma 2 and Street Fighter 6 will also use RE Engine, so it wouldn't surprise me if the volume bug is a thing in those too.
