Weapon upgrades: worth the extra slot or not?
I've run through the game on Normal with full weapon upgrades just for the heck of it, but for the eventually upcoming Hard playthrough I doubt using some, if not most of them. Want to hear your opinions.

- Matilda's stock is probably the worst offender. I haven't been in a single situation where I really needed a 3-round burst, and given how economic you have to be with bullets rapid firing is a waste of ammo.
- Shotgun with the extended barrel is actually nice, first and foremost due to doubling the amount of ammo before reload.
- The Deagle extension seems useful due to pure increase to damage output, but I haven't used it without the attachment on tougher enemies so I don't know how many shots exactly I'm saving. Regular zombies are probably one hit kills with it regardless, but who wants to waste the most powerful ammo on regular walkers?

I'm yet to play Claire's campaign so can't judge about her weapons but the question stands, appreciate your input!

The only one I never used was the matilda's stock, but it has been argued that the 3 round burst is really good for boss fights.

There's no reason not to. You can still fire single-shot with the stock, except now you have the option to hold it down to spit more bullets at once. Good for mincing trash enemies or during boss-fights where single-shots are slow and cumbersome.

The problem is it takes another slot for a 3 round burst I almost never used.

Shotgun and Lightning Hawk upgrades are really good, I agree that Matilda upgrade isn't that good, I never use that gun anyway, I always switch that with Wesker gun.

On my first playthrough as Leon, I only used the Matilda stock for bosses so I didn't accidentaly use too much ammo.

I feel like the matilda stock also steadies leons aim, but I could be wrong.
the Lightning Hawk fully uprgraded in Leon B at the end it pretty much all I used

The stock is only the 3 round burst, the aim increase is from the muzzle break *which is weird I know*

It is good for bossfights indeed, but other than that the extra slot you get from NOT using it is way bigger of an advantage.

Not nearly as weird as a red dot sight also being a laser sight)
I don't know why but it really bugged me

The red dot for the magnum is clearly different from the laser sight Claire gets. This game doesn't have ADS so there's really no other way to show the red dot except to change the color of the dot in the aiming reticle.
