Claire B is WAY too hard (spoilers if you haven't tried it yet)
Having lickers and Mr X after you when you have two bad guns, too many zombies to deal with, with all the items in new locations, is way too much.

On top of that, not having an item box in the main hall means I don't have much of a safe area since X, lickers and zombies roam around the area near the safe rooms. The main hall is different, it gives you a chance to create space.

I played for a little over an hour and a half (1 hr on the timer) and I need to restart.

You don't get a chance to explore the new areas safely, you can't really clear out any enemies with these bad weapons, the rooms fill up with them again anyway, and I have nothing to take care of the lickers.

If X comes after you and the lickers get aggro'd, you're dead.

I'm guessing you can get the stronger guns early on, but first off I'm not even sure that's true, and even if it is, I don't know how to get them yet.

I could cheat and get some maps then plan a route, but this setup doesn't feel like a normal mode, it feels more like a hard mode.

It's probably harder than Leon A hardcore actually since at least with that you'd have the time and normal progression to deal with the tougher threats.

It's not hard. It's just different. As with the old games, there is a lot of trial-and-error, and even then this games kind of holds your hand by giving you objectives and marking the items in your map.

I had to restart my game B with Claire because I thought I could manage items before activating T-103 in the STARS hallway. And it worked. Got all I needed, plus one medal. All I needed after was the other two medals. I saw T-103 just once, and we never crossed paths again, other than once when I had lure him around the precinct to open the statue to the sewers.

He's a bit more present in game B, but he is still not a problem when you get to know his mechanic and strategically eliminate some of the enemies.

You're not playing on hardcore either, so it's not like saving is an issue to you either. The B scenario's were also harder in the original resident evil, because the player was supposed to have improved after having already played the game, as most people do; if the game was the same difficulty, what would be the challenge?
Claire B has a massively frontloaded spike in difficulty. Leon A didn't do that it unless you were missing a ton of shots. There's plenty of ammo, space, locations and time to make good decisions. I've played every main Resident Evil and the only time I've ever been put in a position to force a restart on normal mode is this one, including the original Resident Evil. That's poor design.

I find the .45 ACP so much more reliable for stun tapping zombies just practice. The start can be rough but once you're into the station it's plain sailing, just keep trying.

No it isn't and I literally told you how to make it FAR easier in my post at the bottom of page 1. You have just chosen to ignore it because it would end your complaining otherwise.

Claire B requires experimentation, memorization, and a good plan. Leon A doesn't.
You should already know from completing Leon A... It is pretty close to the same thing, except easier cause lickers replace some enemies and you get the GL + Submachine Gun.

Dear dude(or dudette), do this.

Start all over.

Get the nade launcher first thing.

Roast every zambie.

Then trigger the big dude.

Bonus tips:

Handgun the bosses. Use heavy weaponry on Zambies. It’s the only way to progress in this game.

Ammo was the problem with my playthrough too. You keep getting ammo for the worst handgun(Quickdraw) but not the other two. You have to craft them. When I first saw this I thought it was some glitch, but nope.

Tbh I found the dogs to be worse than the lickers :P.

Sorry to say the nade launcher is the best weapons with the zap gun

THE WHOLE POINT OF THE THREAD IS THAT THE NEW ENEMIES ARE INTRODUCED TOO EARLY AND ABRUPTLY, AND THAT YOU HAD TO TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT TO DO IN ORDER TO MAKE IT VIABLE. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN LEON A. I HAVE STATED THIS AT LEAST 5 TIMES IN DIFFERENT WAYS. YOU TELLING ME WHAT I NEED TO DO PROVES THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE THREAD.

Interesting.

I found Claire B waaay easier than Leon A personally. Beat both on hardcore.

THE WHOLE POINT OF THE THREAD IS THAT THE NEW ENEMIES ARE NOT OBVIOUS, AND THAT YOU HAD TO TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT TO DO IN ORDER TO MAKE IT VIABLE. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN LEON A. Wrong. All of this knowledge was BASED on Leon A campaign because its the SAME THING!! The core difference is Claire B has a WAAAAAAAAY easier basement segment, goes to the chiefs office (zero enemies there!), gets chased less by Mr. X, has the orphanage (lol), has a extra final boss (can auto win with mini gun so it doesn't even count unless the boss before you wasted almost every ounce of resources you had by then, better have a knife in that case for final boss). Oh, and Claire leaves the parking lot and has to run past a lot of dogs that will never hit you unless you decide to take a nap in the streets.

It isn't our fault you didn't pay attention in Leon A. Key items didn't move! Enemies didn't move except some dogs got REMOVED everywhere in basement except Kennel where they were replace by lickers (10x easier) and the sprint to orphanage (a segment where they don't even matter even 1% of the time).

Claire B is EASIER.

Imagine back in 1998 with the old version. There was hardly any internet available, no Steam, no YouTube or nothing. I had to restart that game numerous times until I got it right and understood the correct gameplay flow. At times I was all the way in the lab when I realized I hit a point of no return and had to restart.

I know it's frustrating, but that's how these games were. And this game was made very close to resemble the original when it comes to gameplay.

The learning curve and finding the right path is what makes this game so much fun and rewarding at the end.

As for the Game B with Claire, you can collect pretty much every single thing except for the last medallions before triggering T-103 to appear.
DireAct Feb 12, 2019 @ 6:07pm
I think Claire B is a bit harder, but only on one fact that it divides your handgun ammo into two types. Other than that, you can get Leon's Magnum/Claire's TMP really early on which handles Lickers easy.

LEON A EARLY NATURAL PROGRESSION WILL NOT PUT YOU IN AN UNWINNABLE STATE UNLESS YOU'RE WASTING A TON OF BULLETS. THE POINT OF THE THREAD. KNOWING THINGS BEFOREHAND IS NOT NATURAL PROGRESSION. ITEMS SO FAR ARE NOT IN THE SAME PLACE. RED JEWEL BOX USED TO BE A PORTABLE SAFE. MANY ITEMS ARE LIKE THIS AND THE RED JEWEL BOX IS A KEY ITEM. FOR YOU TO SIT HERE AND TELL ME I WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION WHEN I'M CLEARLY PAYING ATTENTION IS ABSURD. THE MEDALLIONS HAVEN'T MOVED BUT THE JEWEL BOX HAS. SO WHAT SHOULD I BELIEVE, MY EYES OR NOT? IF OTHERS ARE IN THE SAME PLACE THEN THAT'S NOT OBVIOUS EARLY ON. IT IS VERY EASY TO TRIGGER LICKERS AND MR X. IF YOU KNOW WHAT NOT TO DO TO DO THAT, THEN GREAT, BUT THAT DOESN'T FOLLOW A FLOW AND YOU MIGHT HAVE TO START OVER A FEW TIMES. POINT OF THREAD.
