Ada part makes me want to stop playing.
Doesn't fit the scenario and once Mr. X gets into the ventilator room you're stuck running circles with no chance of blowing up that ventilator. No healing items on Ada, so in the case you get hit once before Mr. X shows up...

Yeah. Really unfun.

I completed it now. The hacking is still ♥♥♥♥. It's random and doesn't fit in a RE game.

Modern gamers.......

No wonder every new game holds your hand now.
So you are and "oldschool gamer" which means that you can be mean to others online?

Its just opinions man, we all like different stuff.

Been there, you "outrun" him pretty well if you know where all the power nodes are, and then you can get in the ventilator shaft all in one go...

Because it was a poorly designed section of the game, it's absolutely boring.

"Poorly designed" how?

In the original, you followed Annette after she shot Leon, confronted her, watched a cutscene, went down a ladder to the waste disposal area and then the game switched to Leon who catched up to her "waiting" where you left her.

There was another short section with Ada where she would dodge a few dogs, do a short box pushing puzzle (which was the same for Sherry) and returned to Leon with a key.

Now, in the remake, they pimped this up a bit by combining both these sections into one, replacing the dogs with zombies, replacing the odd box pushing puzzle with the much more intense incinerator hacking puzzle, and threw Mr. X into the mix too. Instead of Ada getting a key, she now gets the wristband, and instead of her just "waiting" for Leon to catch up to the waste disposal area, she's getting hurt and thus has a reason to wait for him.

How would you have reimagined RE2's Ada section? As a zombie shooter?

Anything would have been better than a Batman cameo.

Why did I even bother ...

Because you wanted an answer.

If you want a better answer it was so boring for that 5 min I almost uninstalled the game as well so I suppose removing the entire section of the game would suffice, the 5 mins of annoyance more than makes up for the rest of the game in such a short amount of time it should have some sort of record for it.

How can it be "so boring" when it's essentially still the same gameplay? You encounter some zombies, run from Mr X, solve a couple puzzles... it's the same game...

Sherry on the other hand, her section is actually different from what players are used to.

IDK it's just boring to me, why are things boring to you?

Hint: When you do things that aren't fun they tend to be boring.

The entire Ada part was boring to me, the rest of what I played was fine no issues at all but this part just felt like they had no ideas and pulled a piece of paper out of a hat with someones idea for Ada's 5min of "fame".

I’ll admit that catwalk section can be annoying if you don’t know what youre doing. Youre strapped for time as you look for those control boxes, cause X gon’ give it to ya, but its hardly an inconvenience and i wouldnt say its boring. Its the same feeling of being “hunted down,” like in the rest of the game.

Theres a ton of in game achievements.. i believe Ada’s section has a Mr. Racoon, as well as completing her section with only her hacking device.

And yes, Sherry’s section gave me the creeps.. Iron’s freaks me out when he runs.

Ok, so it was boring to you. But "boring to you"=/="poorly designed". .

Well if you look at a video game in a way that it is built to entertain you and when you suddenly find it boring and if it then fails to entertain you.. .then yeah i think you can argue that it is not well enough designed...

Ok, so it was boring to you. But "boring to you"=/="poorly designed". Otherwise the gaming industry should probably hire you as their benchmark. Guess what: I personally don't like timed puzzles either and thus Ada's section is probably my least favorite in whole the game too, but given that it's the only timed puzzle section in the entire game, I have to to admit that it provides a bit of variety. If the hacking was like a 30 minutes segment, it certainly would have overstayed it's welcome due to repetitiveness and THAT would have been a design flaw, but if you already get bored into uninstalling after a <5 minutes "connect the lines" segment, I wonder how you fare with insurance papers or tax declarations in RL.

I just pay HR Block to do my taxes so that's pretty much irrelevant, never said they had to use me or my opinion for a benchmark either that's all you brother, but for such a short segment that added nothing to the game other than a pixilated ass to scope I'd rather just bang the wife you know, that part is just flat out boring and not fun to me, so I agree with the OP, I'm sorry you don't like it but that's the way it is.

Yes agreed it did break the immersion for me, but for the record I did enjoy the rest of the game.

I totally agree, it's a refund from me. Screw you Capcom for making the Ada section terrible
Ghos7Soldier Feb 9, 2019 @ 11:21am
Didn't mind it really. It's not long enough for me to care or have an opinion on it. It's about as long as sherry's and once you know what you're doing it's not a long section and already playing as leon/claire. To be honest, I just dislike the sewer portion period but hey, get to blow up big croc all over again is fun.
