Stuck on first boss(hardcore)

I'm completely out of ammo with only 3 shotgun shells and I pick up the pistol ammo and it never seems enough. I'm only shooting the eye thing on its arm but I dont have enough ammo and i have to restart to the last save. Any help?

Don't have any knives. Coming from just finishing re 1 thought the knive was useless lol

Been stuck on this boss for hrs and I only lose to lack of ammo. Wish I made another save before I went inside cause I cant go back outside for ammo

Do not underestimate the knife. Also you should have enough ammo in the room to take him down. You don't have to hit him for him to expose his eye. He will automatically expose it after a short moment. Save your ammo only for the eye.

Be like me and accept that you've turboscrewed your save by using too much ammo and just start over, trying to conserve way more ammo on your re-run through RPD. Remember, you can sneak past all of the lickers except for the one that attacks you after you blow the C4 (and even then you can prob just burn a flashbang on that one and make a break for it), and for many rooms you can afford to leave a zombie alive to save a few more bullets. My second attempt I had like 3x as much ammo as my first try and was able to take the boss down fine.

With the 2 grenades there is sufficient ammo on the arena to kill him without bringing anything with you. You do the same amount of damage by shooting him in his human head. Just take your time and pick your shots

Ended up restarting. I wasted more time trying to kill the boss with no ammo, only took me about an hr of backtracking on a new save since I knew where everything was now

You could try watching people fight William on YT or Twitch. It helps me learn better when I watch someone else personally. He’s pretty easy once you get the HC game mode down. G3 in NEST is my worst nightmare.

you thought a defensive item was useless. In hardcore. where a single bite brings you to danger which you can totally avoid with a defense item. Crtical thinking goes a long way.

Nice thing about the game being short is that a restart isn't that hamful at all. Odds are you will be faster and use far less ammo the second, third, fourth, etc times through.

Totally. There's a lot to be said for a game like this vs a 20hr game that you're too invested in to restart.

I ended up abandoning my original messed up save, restarting as Claire. Once completed I got the Leon specific Mr Raccoon statues and am now busy slashing up any downed enemies with the inf. combat knife before triggering Mr X on Leon A take 2 :p

He may have meant the original in which there were no defense knives just the combat knife.
