What save points times do you use on hardcore mode. S+

Leon B Croc or Ada, Crane Fight? ,Lab

Having 30mins for the lab is nice.

1hr to pass the parking gate? sherry or croc, 50mins is likely better.

All I know is its tight, using non modded run I saved before the fight brikins fight at 33ish mins & pulled lever to cross at 39mins after fight, this pacing isn't fast enough & at 1:06hrs got caught doing sherry's hide & seek, seems its 50/50 if I get caught or not.

I'll likely start over again, this games abit boring & the Zombie AI is annoying so are their placements & you get punished for not killing the zombies at key locations & if you do it takes to long or to much ammo. Don't even get me started on the lack of item bag space, half the time I have to run back to the box because I don't get both spare button keys or rather haven't found the other one yet, same no machine gun for Claire.

I do grab the bag out of the 9157 safe.

However in a modded save theres 2 more bags right with that one location in the film room & weapon locker that you auto get right then & there, really lets you horde items as you please.

My typical save points for a casual play through, same for all play through.

Before G1 - 20-25 min
Before going for King and Queen plug - 55-60min
Before G3 - 1:20-1:25

I only do it differently if I’m attempting something out of my usual practice. Most of the time I’m slightly faster than the time I stated but I also tend to goof around quite a bit.

You don't want the save at the final fight if your not sure your going to make the time limit, 30mins at the lab should be doable correct? maybe 33-35mins, I get going thru the lab sucks but yea its likely the best place to save. Sorry added S+ should have made that more clear.

As Claire on my first hardcore S+ attempt, I went with before G1, before G2, and before G3. With Leon, I did mostly the same, the only difference being my first save came after G1 instead of before.

When I was preparing to do my hardcore runs many, many months back, I recall many recommendations at the time seemed to suggest before G2, before G3, and after G3. I found that a bit strange, at least to be suggesting for players attempting it their first time (and likely using A scenarios). After G3, there is really nothing but one more boss fight (G4 as Claire, or Super Tyrant as Leon). That's suggesting to go over half the game without a save at all just to have the luxury of saving between G3 and the last boss?

Personally, once I get to before G3 and am good on time, I feel secure. It might make me take a few tries to finish it, but I feel secure in it. I'd personally rather have a save before G3 and mess up at Super Tyrant as Leon and need to fight G3 again (maybe a few times even) than mess up even once at any point between the R.P.D. basement and before G2 and then have to restart the entire thing.

I guess it makes sense coming from those who've done the run on Hardcore a few times and/or are more confident in the early part. Also might make more sense for B scenarios where there's the bonus boss (but the added risk factor is basically nil I guess).

I haven't tried a 3 save limit yet, but if I wanted to push for it, I think mine would probably be:

1: Iron's office/Whatever Leon's most convenient equivalent is.

2: Before King/Queen Plugs. (After, if I'm feeling confident)

3: Before G3.

First save is for insurance against X.

Second is because the Gut Tunnel and G2 can both go wrong very fast.

Third is because I consider the entire lab section prior to G3 to be pretty free, since most of the challenge revolves around the Shape Codes, which never change.

I saved once before the alligator, then i forgot to (beign not so much threat afterward) and lost my last typewriter before the final tyrant ("I should save here, no wait there should be another one right before the elevator") Nope, there's just a trunk.
