Magnum or Shotgun (Leon)

Guys I'm confused... which is more powerful? which one should I have all the time with me, which one should I craft more ammo for? any info on how all weapons compare and how to be most efficient? thanks!

Shotgun is good for general purpose killing. The Desert Eagle (Lightning Hawk) is the most powerful gun in the game bar none, the ammo for it is very precious.

I used the majority of the yellow gunpowder for magnum rounds. Using the same amount of gunpowder, you can either get 6 magnum rounds and a dozen or so handgun bullets, or 6 shotgun shells, and there was more than one occasion where a point blank headshot with the shotgun didn't kill a zombie for me. I carried all three on me pretty much the entire game, but I would save gunpowder for the magnum and handgun.
