Why so many blue herbs?
I haven't needed to use a single blue herb in the entire playthough.

Not because I'm 'gud', but I no creature really poisoned me. I suppose the ones that can are the sewer blob monsters, but they've only gotten slash attacks on me, the grabs I've countered out of being freaking terrified, and the plant zombies were mostly a non-issue because there's not many of them but there's plenty of flamethrower fuel.

However by the end of the game I was swimming in the blue herbs, and the only proper use I've gotten out of them is the damage resistance bonus with the G+R+B mixture for the endgame bossfights. Maybe it's a werid complaint but I don't know why they put so many in the game.

I remember in RE3 you had way more risks to get poisoned so it was justified there.

Probably has to do with the removal of giant spiders, then they forgot to adjust loot.

Giving them the general damage resistance ability is still more general use than they ever had in a prior game.

Like, you had the snakes in RE1, Ivys and Spiders in RE2 and just Spiders in RE3. (Supposedly those practically interchangable insect enemies, but I've literally never seen it happen.)

All those enemies are either extremely easy to not get hit by, even for a first time player, or they sometimes just ignore you entirely. (Spiders especially were like that.)

Ah, makes sense they'd be in RE2 as well (never played it, went RE3-RE1)

That I can agree with, but it still made the G+B mixtures kinda redundant. Oh well

The triple-mix provides damage resistance - that alone is worth it. Sure, there's not much call for a blue/red or blue/green unless poisoned, but there's so many of each that it's only really worth chowing on herbs unless desperate and/or you've mixed all three together for the best result.

Maybe with the free DLC they might consider adding the previously cut enemies. You'll certainly need more blues if Spiders and/or Snakes enter the mix.

It seems like they're moving away from MOST of the overgrown animals thing. While I liked the spiders as enemies, I have to say it can be a bit ridiculous, especially with a whole bloody zoo in RE0.

I think they even said they were undure about the crocodile fight so they made it into the chase sequence.

While I don't really mind, they could have just made some zombies poisonous.

It's a good idea to use a Blue/Red/Green mix during every boss fight for the damage resistance buff. I do think there are still a tad more Blue Herbs in the game than it needed though. As it's very rare to get poisoned. Though there is no infinite use Blue Herb pot either. So if you were poisoned you would probably be glad there was some.
Blue isnt just for curing posion.... its for use during boss fights since it reduces incoming damage.

Blue herbs got a buff to their usability, when mixed with a red herb they temporarily decrease the damage you take when hit.

From what I've read R+B only gives you poison resistance, damage resistance is obtained from G+G+G and R+G+B
