Best tactic for G monsters on way to flamethrower?

I'm on my first run, really taking my time. I'm Leon, and I've saved up a good few shells and magnum rounds. I have the Lightning Hawk fully upgraded and a good supply of pistol ammo. So far I've found ways to avoid most enemies without any trouble, just not these guys. I have tried my darndest getting by those first two on that narrow path before the room with the last two plugs, but there seems to be no choice but to fight em. I was thinking on using grenades or knifes to stun them and rush by, but to no avail. Just curious to see if anyone else has had better luck dodging these super powered dumpster babies.

Handgun all the way... For the first one. It is hard to dodge it. Second can be lured for hand swipe - run to its right (your left). Third can be just ran pass.

I ran past. put a pistol round in the first one from a distance on the corner and right away run to its left and past. the second don't stop and run on its left, stop for nothing there is only a box of bullets to find but this will save you way more than that. Bring a blue herb/red herb in case you do get bit. also a stack of grenades or flash bangs in case you get grabbed... On the return trip stay to the left path don't get in the sewage until the first monster goes away, If you have to get in so he appears just run back to the ledge until he goes away...watch from a distance to make sure the left path is clear and run like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...use the ledge trick on the last on too...took me three tries but only used a single bullet on hardcore leon A run.

If you see them "bulging" out of the water, shoot it once with your handgun a couple feet away which will make them come up. During that animation, run past them to the side as much as you can. I also carry at least 3 escape items just in case.
