Matilda's stock upgrade really doesn't seem worth it.
For the role the 9mm weapons fill, the extra DPS doesn't seem worth the extra inventory slot and ammo consumption rate, especially on hardcore where both ammo and inventory size are reduced.

It was nice upgrade in the original RE2, where 9mm was pletiful and zombies were downed in 5-6.

Its pretty trash now, Wesker seems to be the best 9mm.

You don't have to consume ammo faster, tap the trigger and you'll get one shot, hold for a burst. I quite like the decreased time to focus your aim, makes it easier to engage from a safer distance and less likely you'll waste shots. Also, the increased dps is an option when you actually need it, like if you're using 9mm ammo on a boss to conserve more precious supplies.

But yeah, is it worth an extra inventory slot? Possibly not.

I think the original gave like a headshot chance increase. Would have been really nice if we could put the stock on and switch it to manual like you could before. Get an accuracy speed and crit boost as well to make up for the space.

It's nice for planting multiple shots into "G"'s eye quickly.

One inventory box only fit 60 normal bullets, and the rapid fire rate not that high as well.

Fully upgrade Matilda can land all three bullets into zombie head from around 5 meters. If you fully aim.

Shotgun is kind of useless against all bosses though.

I utterly demolished the final boss with fully upgraded Matilda, the upgrades definitely make it a decent weapon and the last part gives you so much gunpowder you are drowning in 9mm ammo at the end as well.

You can still tap to fire 1 or 2 shots. It's possible to land two zeroed in headshots with a double shot burst, which gives it more conventional power than usual. Especially if you're combining all yellow powder together into MAG ammo, and combining all regular power into handgun ammo, anyway.

It's also great at rapidly taking down Ivy's before you burn them, and stun locking Lickers to some degree. I dunno, I didn't have a problem with the upgrade at all, other than it taking up two slots I guess, but that's practically the norm will all weapons you can upgrade anyway.

It can spit out some crazy DPS against big targets where zeroing in or recoil would make it a problem against other enemies like zombies dogs, though. Doesn't quite rival Claire's SMG or Quickdraw SAA, but it's definitely not a junk upgrade.

If anything the junk upgrade is the Muzzle Break, since it makes it look ugly. Would have much prefered a suppressor.

In Leon B by the last boss encounter (befor the train ofc) I had no more shotgun shells and only 2 magnun rounds. Sooo I used all of that sweet powder ive been hoarding (because of that STUPID handgun the game forces us to use). and then bam. I defeated the boss using 70 matilda and 2 magnun shots. But the upgraded matilda bothers me so much, its so ugly... haha

I resent that. The 1911 is a fine weapon. It is just Leon who holds it like a retarded gangster monkey. At least Claire fan fires her SAA, even though that would be extremely unlikely.
