acid vs fire!
so in the original RE2 acid rounds were strong vs everything but zombies, ivys, the moth and birkin last 2 forms, so in this game what is it really good for fighting? on normal it takes around 2 to kill lickers but it looks like its still very strong vs Mr.X and birkin.

I think fire grenades are better overall, good against zombies, lickers, ivys, sewer monsters and not that bad against Birkin.

Acid is useless against G-Birkin (I killed 1st form with 27 handgun bullets and for the same save it took me around 11 acid grenades!!!), like at all. They are numerous though and can kill zombies in one hit (or not). Lickers stunned by them as well, allowing you to knife lone licker to death.

Really? were you on hardcore? I killed him with 6 acid rounds, then again I was shooting him in the eye (the eye takes extra damage and if you shoot him right in the eye with a grenade it takes extra damage!) it also deals damage over time, the last form of birkin got killed by the acid DoT for me lol

OK after some testing I CAN CONFIRM acid rounds are MUCH better than fire for lickers, also deals more damage to Mr.X AND birkin, fire is only good vs normal zombies, dogs (maybe) and ivy! I am playing on hardcore and did some light testing, I pumped quite a few fire rounds into Mr.x and he just didn't care, on lickers it took 3-4 flame rounds or 2-3 acid rounds!!!

Well, I was shooting to the eye as well (though some went astray).
The last birkin ate all my remaining 29 acid grenades!!! And this time I had 2-slots GL that has better accuracy. He ate 300+ gatling bullets afterwards...

Against Lickers - sure... Birkin... Not so sure... I had to restart fight because I had no time after this. SMG worked better against the last Birkin.

well birkin 4 always eats like 300+ rounds, I just finished birkin 1 on hardcord and he took like 8 ish acid rounds, and 6 SSA shots.
