Spark shot kind of a let down

for as cool as this thing looks I found it kind of a let down, it does kill zombies in one shot I don't use it alot, I only used it vs zombies and ivy, the ivys it does put down but does not kill, is it good vs lickers or adult Gs?

On standard, it killed G adults in 1-2 hits for me. Never tried it with lickers because flame rounds often 1-shot them for me.

It's horrible against bosses, though.

Like the flamethrower, it's pretty much there to ensure you have something to use against the Ivy enemies in the labs.

The original was really powerful, but I think it hurt your ranking if you used it. Pretty much used to kill zombies in two hits. It's quite powerful in the REmake too, pretty much several guaranteed zombie or Ivy kills. I guess. You can find like 14 shots in total for it, so that's 14 dead zombies, at any rate. Helps you save ammo for the boss fights, where it has practically no use.

It's not very good compared to the grenade launcher but it's miles better than it was in the original. It's decent on Lickers and the G Adults as the person above pointed out. If you get off a full charge it's a lot of damage but if you don't get that discharge it sucks.

Spark Shot is kinda OP it kills the G-Adults on Standard and Hardcore with 1 single charged shot to the eye.

It does not kill ivy, it just puts them down, flame rounds and the flamethrower kill ivy, unless you burn them they keep getting back up, one flame round is all it takes (well on normal mode at least)

i only used it like twice and it was during the final boss fight (i dont wanna say where because spoilers)

I ended up using the SMG and flame/acid rounds on everything

I know for sure that it kills the lickers in a single overcharge. (In Hardcore, as well)

It kills both lickers and G-mutants in one overcharge. The problem is by the time you get it you're past the great majority of those enemies. The flamethrower at least appears before the time you'll find most use for it, the spark shot needed to be earlier in the game, pre-sewers ideally, with perhaps its mod in the weapon's present location, and some ammo where the mod currently is.

You dont need that for lickers, because basically you dont need to kill any of them (except in the Lab maybe).
Those plant man so easy to stun them so you dont need to burn them into ashes.
I think the most troublesome monster is the Sewer G mutant, cant out run them and keep grabbing you from far, and you have to go through 4 of them in the sewer.
And G Birkin stage 3 and stage 4 so hard to kill you so you MUST use the Sparkshot.

well right now I am playing on hardcore and big suprise sparkshot does not work on birkin at all, it does kill lickers in one shot but as said before you don't need to kill them minus the ones in the lab and standing still and stairing at one is not good for your health AND it can only killa G adult in one shot if they dont have the shell over the eyeball then it takes 2 shots, on top of that by the time I get the spark shot there are only 2 adults left so SMG, and acid rounds FTW

This. I used it on the two zombies in the King / Queen plug room where you find it, and then promptly forgot it ever existed. That's not saying it's a worthless weapon, it's just it hardly finds a use in Claire's story, unless you want to save some flame rounds when dealing with the Ivy guys, assuming you don't just stun them by blowing the bulbs away.

It's pretty useful in the Tofu Survivor mode though, can be used to pretty much stun anything long enough to bypass them without being hit. It's also good against Lickers that are mounted on the ceiling or wall, because their animation is really long - although, why would you attack Lickers anyway, right?
