I'd rather play at a constant 125% difficulty than start at 100% and increase steadily to 150%, so things can be more consistent. It's annoying when in one run, Mr. X falls down after a flame grenade and five handgun headshots, but in another run, Mr. X tanks three flame grenades before falling over, etc. Purely for testing purposes, mind you - it's pointless actually fighting Mr. X, I know.
Consistency is what I crave, I know RNG gives a game some pseudo-replayability but it also makes it incredibly annoying. The older games had zombies that could take a good variety of hits to kill, but for the most part later on you could always guarantee everything else would die in X amount of shots, and plan for it accordingly.
I've witnessed a zombie survive a magnum headshot. It was a glancing hit, but their head was definitely entirely devoid of skin, just a bloody skull and nothing else. Still not sure how it happened, but it did. I've also seen too many zombies survive a point blank shotgun blast to the head and only get the same effect - a bloody, mangled skull, but still very much intact. It's cool, and variety is the spice of life, but damn if it isn't frustrating sometimes.
Yet no matter what, Lickers seem to be fairly consistent in that three magnum rounds to the head will end it. It's mostly just zombies that are the prime cause of irritation...and that's why most players simply opt to kneecap them instead of kill them.
The game is perfectly playable though, and that's what counts the most.
thats not what hes asking. hes asking for a random RNG/Adaptive mechanic to be removed and stay consistent. people have loaded saves for same zombie and it randomly took more than 5-6 shot to the head to headshot. where the first time it was less.
the game is amazing, im loving it, just one of the things i also dont like.
I was told it does and that people were intentionally dying to make it easier.
There's just some zombies that are tankier then others.
Zombie bites are weird sometimes I stay in fine sometimes I go to orange caution.
I read somewhere that you can never be killed unless you are attacked while in Danger status, which makes any G+G and G+G+G mixes totally pointless, really.
I don't know for sure if enemy instant kill attacks only trigger if you are below a certain health value though, like in the originals - or if Mr. X can grab you from behind and crush your skull even if you are at full health, etc.
Suppose I'll test that theory for myself at some point. It holds water though, you can be smacked by the final boss from Fine right into Danger, then chug a single green herb, then get hit by the exact same attack and you'll go back into Danger rather than simply dying.
How so ?
I'm on standard (Leon B) currently, and since mid Clair A any bite i take puts me in danger.
This is inaccurate as far as the plant zombies go. I was doing 4th Survivor, and getting grabbed by those things at Caution insta-gibbed me. Figured I could skip a defense item and tank a hit but the game had other plans.
