Though once you've gotten down to the jail, gotten the keycard, and escaped? He won't be back for a while, so you'll get to enjoy some breathing room.
Hope this helps!
He definitely puts the pressure on.
Some sort of timed decoy (such as alarm bell control switches in rooms) would be nice though just to get him to the other end of the RPD as I've really enjoyed exploring the place. Once he appeared I went straight into rocket run mode.
You have other methods for decoys. The Tyrant can and will investigate everything from gunshots to grenade explosions to windows breaking/objects being moved. You can toss a stun grenade into a room then run for a few rooms and hide in a dead-end one, he'll walk right past you to go investigate the sound and that's when you can slip out undetected.
Just make sure you wait until he's in the next room to open yours and slink away, otherwise he has a chance to hear the door opening and he'll turn around and spot you.
By the way, don't open doors while sprinting, doing that slams them open and he can hear that from several rooms away, same with sprinting around, too.
Inconequential or not... it does happen. And considering how stressed people are over Mr-X, I can easily see the Ada segment giving people a heart attack.
Yeah, this is also a thing. The Main Hall is no longer a safe area but certain saferooms [AKA with the save station and item box] are ones he won't venture into.
Avoid the Linen Room if possible, as despite how cramped it is, that's one he can go into, you're better off avoiding it at all costs.
I just ran from him this whole time. Needed to use one R+G herb but I had also been ambushed by a zombie and a licker I was sure I had killed previously. I guess I may have reloaded and forgot about it. Though walking slowly down the corridor (the one leading to the dark room and stairs) the next time around didn't alert it.
He will also go into the Weapon Storage Room....
I had about 13 seconds left.... that definitely put me in the hotseat. =)
Unfortunately that means I got the second missing key so I'll have to go visit the weapons storage room.
One thing I'm thankful for is 5.1 surround sound. I seriously want to mount a pair of speakers on the ceiling to get 5.1.2 atmos so I can hear if he's on a floor above me.
I have some small speakers I could mount on the ceiling I guess, just need to figure out a way to mount them, there's a screw in the base so if I figure out what that fits I guess I can screw them into homemade speaker mounts screwed into the ceiling joists. Then if I get a bigger pair I can just change the mounting system.
