Hardcore Leon - Birkin Battle #1 NO AMMO

For those of you who decided to opt for hardcore like i did because your either used to playing that in games or your a long time resident evil player i figured out how to beat birkin with no ammo going into the fight.

I'll be honest we haven't had any good games like this in so long i wasn't used to conserving ammo so i went into this battle with nearly nothing and felt stupid.

Birkin has 2 forms, 1 without an eye he's super slow and 1 with an eye which is where he is fast and can be a little dangerous. I went into the battle right before going down under the statue i had 0 ammo my pistol or shotgun. All i had was 2 g+r mixes and 1 knife, 2 flashes.

Go down the stairs get the shotgun ammo in the first room, down the elevator and go all the way to the bottom and get the first grenade. After that go battle birkin after the cutscene he is in his first slow form, go run around and collect everything. After collecting it all and mixing the herbs make sure NOTHING is equipped you don't want to waste anything on him when he grabs you.

After you have everything kite him around till he changes DO NOT waste any ammo shooting him to force him to change any faster i repeat DO NOT WASTE AMMO trying to get him to change forms it does it AUTOMATICALLY. After he changes kite him around anywhere and get him to do any attacks usually standing by a corner and waiting then running as he gets kind of stuck for a second.

After you get away he will come after you take your time and shoot his big eye, DO NOT shot anywhere else on him and DO NOT MISS. Every single bullet counts trust me i've done this battle a crap ton of tons because i made the mistake of wasting all my ammo going into the fight and saving over my old saves. Yeah i am that dumb.

After you hit him like 3-4 times he will go down for a second run up blast him with a shotgun and quickly throw 1 grenade and run away. After this you HAVE TO un-equip everything leave no flashes, nades or knives equipped. You will end up wasting them all when he grabs you so don't let him grab you.

You follow this it will work but you cannot miss very many shots but i think after you drop him like 4 or 5 times i forgot to keep count you will beat him, trust me this works lol

Also DO NOT let him get away so he jumps above you and then drops down because there is potential if your not quick enough to run away when he gets up, he comes up swinging ALWAYS keep him in your sight.

I ended the battle with 6 pistol rounds so however many you get in the boss battle alone means you can beat him going into it with no ammo like i did, i missed probably 8 shots give or take so you do not have much room for error.

I didn't try it myself, but i assumed that "You can get softlocked" talk was bullfeces.

Not that you should go into that fight without any ammo, but it's nice to know that its doable.

A guide on steam said that Birkin actually takes the same amount of damage from head shots as shooting in the eye, and it's much easier to hit -- can't personally confirm or deny though!

Need to check that out. I actually wasted all my ammo, 2 granades, all shotgun ammo and ended up with 0 everything, to get pwnd by the dogs, so might go back to this fight.

I did mix of head and eye shots and it was like 25-30 bullets on normal. I found the eye easier target when it appears.

You know you dont have to use equiped sub weapon when you get grabbed right. Just dont press space bar?

Your right but sometimes out of enough frustration im tempted to use it i went through the battle so many times lol
