Doing AABB is pointless
How is it pointless exactly? It unlocks the 2nd run for the other character.
The A campaigns are exactly the same from what I understand. So if you completed Leon A, you'd want to do Claire B and completing that will unlock Leon B as well as 4th Survivor Mode. If you completed Claire A, you'd want to do Leon B and completing that will unlock Claire B as well as 4th Survivor Mode.
In the end you need to play all campaigns anyway. The 2nd run isn't a whole lot different from the 1st run. You just do things in a different order. Events remain the same pretty much. (only the final boss is different at the end).
Having done Claire B, I tend to agree with this. Leon's is definitely more challenging and aside from the intermission at Kendo's Gun Shop, tends to lack the emotional beats that Claire's story does.
Playing both A's back to back was great for me as my second run was way more effecient than the first and now i do both B's.
Nothing of what you said makes anything better or any difference at all. It's a preference and nothing else.
So, ultimately, no it's not pointless in any way.
Your absolutely right that it boils down to preference. Though why anyone would see the after-credits scene in Leon A and say "jee I wonder what that's all about.... better save that for later" is beyond me.
I wanted to do a better Claire A run as long as the last playthrough was still fresh on my mind. It's not like the after credits scene got me hyped to know more anyway.
How anyone does get hyped by that is beyond me. /s
Who said anything about getting hyped? It's obviously a half-opened door meant to lead the player into the 2nd run by showing that ending you got in the A-side isn't the end of the story. It's meant to say "hey you, player.... the story ain't over yet!". Your not supposed to feel hype... but rather curiosity.
But hey, I respect your reasoning for wanting to do a better playthrough while it's still fresh in your mind.
