Carry over items into 2nd run?
I just beat Clair on assisted (Yes yell at me, ima do each difficuitly one at a time on all characters, so im getting there), started up Leon with an empty item box. I thought there was a way for items to carry over, is that only if you play again as Clair, or what?

well it isn't if you start the 2nd run of a character you already beat because i just beat claire B and started Leon B and i don't have my previous weapons :( maybe it isn't/ wasn't a thing in re2?

I have both b scenarios unlocked, basically i finished both A's together swapping back and forth from both characters.

Items will not carry over. Inventories are exclusive to each character (and you will not keep them by going from A to B either as that make no logical nor story-based sense).

No, you could never carry over items from one characters A game to the other characters B game in the original RE2.

Hording items only helps the character you're playing as currently not the other. It was like this in the original RE2 as well as every other RE game when you swapped characters. The other character never had access to the items you had in the main characters item box.

For Example:

RE1: When Chris gets poisoned and the player takes control of Rebbecca to find the antidote, she can't see Chris' items in the item box.

RE3: When Carlos has to find Jill a cure for being infected with the T Virus, he can't access Jills items either.

Man that sucks (i understand why).
But like in Re5, i was an hoarder, who stocked up on everything, that was so much fun for me.
you can keep your infinite ammo weapons for each character in each playthrough though... you have to unlock them through Normal S Rank, Hardcore S rank and Hardcore S+ Rank though

some items do, yes, but it's not an entire inventory, guns n ♥♥♥♥, those are there , but no gimmicks.

I played Claire in my first run and wanted to play her in my second. I wanted to play so I keep all inventory, weapons, and upgrades. Particularly I wanted to combine two pieces which I had in my inventory that I didn't notice combined.

However when I started my second play, I could not select to play Claire. It forced me to play Leon. Not sure I can be bothered to start from scratch again.

Second run isn't new game+.

It's the second part of the story where the final boss is. The intended route is to do one character's a route, then the second character's b route, which is why beating Claire A unlocked Leon B.
