Its to stop you playing in Standard, dropping down to Assist for a boss fight and then jumping back Standard mode again. I got that message on the croc too as kept messing up the sequence, which is a bit ridiculous seeing as its an insta-kill QTE....so no, Capcom, making it so zombies die faster wouldnt have helped me!
More like pretty poor reading skills.
Or you know, I was enjoying the game and wanted to get back in and play quickly. After 8 hours of play, randomly seeing an extra window open and close upon hitting continue before the text even showed up, I didn't even realize what happened until I saved one room later. It's a minor annoyance in an otherwise great game, but an annoyance none the less.
I'll definitly be more careful from now on knowing this is a thing, but no previous RE game ever offered me to lower the difficulty when dying twice.
100% not a fair warning. I managed to avoid doing this, but it would be very easy to be tapping a key to just continue like normal and then this comes up. It should default to 'No' to switch to assist mode but in a piece of absolutely horrible design, it starts on 'Yes'.
It's on par with that bloody tutorial owl from Ocarina of Time for Yes/No design choices.
reverted back to normal.
Good job bumping on a 2 year old topic.
And I'll keep on bumping on it too as it's still an issue.
