No Moth room on the RE2 Remake?
I can't believe... This was unique. Capcom... Please... Create update or DLC with this.

If you've seen gameplay footage of the spiders from Resident Evil 1.5, you'd see that they functioned a little similar to trapdoor spiders, hiding in small areas and coming out when they detected prey approaching.

Considering how scary this game was on its first runthrough, imagine having to deal with a couple of big fat tarantulas suddenly appearing out of the walls in the sewer section or in the R.P.D basement rooms. That would have been a fantastic addition.

You know, I don't think I've been poisoned once. What poisons you in this game? The Ivy zombies simply kill you straight up if they grab you, so it can't be them. The blue herb mentions it cures toxicity, but I've been using it purely as a defensive buff item.

Some meaning most. Most of the changes between A and B are gone, it's pretty much just an alternate start with some puzzle changes. They could have easily had Leon start in the original location and make Claire begin in the alternate location and delete the "2nd run" mode and it probably wouldn't have changed much, which is sad.

One thing I did like is how Mr. X punches the camera if you check the laptop in the main hall while on Scenario B, nice little callback to one of the scariest encounters from him back in the original.

Yea seems alot of little things are missing from the overall game. The naked zombies, certain lab parts looked/felt better in the original. Hell even some cutscenes were better in the og.

It wasn't unique at all.. It's was a completely pointless enemy that posed no threat AT ALL. The moths from Cvx on the other hand..

But this is special part of content of Umbrella tests. And Spiders/Moth are the point to use blue herb. Without this is almost pointless.

I think the og had better writing.

The moth room being removed doesn't bother me much, it was an optional room and there was only a single moth in the entire game. What irks me is the removal of spiders, they could have done a lot to make them scary and more threatening than in the original but instead they just removed them completely. I also miss the old version of Ivy, I don't mind the new version but I would rather either have both or just the old design.
the moth was avoidable much and wasn't a threat. As for no giant spiders, it could have been cut out due to being too frightening by internal playtesters due to the photorealistic visuals of the RE engine. The crows would be more annoying than scary even with good aim.

I know, it was sad. I saw some moths flittering around, saw the cockroaches in the morgue, even took note of the maggots inside the G-Types mouth, was really looking forward to the moth...and nadda.

They brought the crocodile section back, which was always a pointless section in the original, literally just run round a corner and push a button, then fire one bullet - but they neglected to include the moth, spiders, dangerous cockroaches, zombies being able to puke acid on you, enhanced lickers, even completely plant like Poison Ivy B.O.Ws, and crows too.

I'd be annoyed if the game wasn't so good.

The moth could have been redesigned and incorporated the features of moths from Code Veronica X and Resident Evil Outbreak. To clarify, there could have been a big moth flying around the Y shaped walkway room in the lab, and if you let it catch you it would carry you to its room, requiring you to escape to continue. There could also have been large moths - not giant - that tried to land on you and plant a moth egg on your back, which later hatched and did some damage, or simply flew around spreading moth dust that poisoned you. Both of those would have been nice, and made a change to the otherwise largely bland and empty final section of the game.

Imagine instead of one small room with plants in, the vivarium area was several areas long and featured poisonous plants and fungi like the ones encountered in Resident Evil Outbreak, including the "flower zombies" and also within was a giant moth and its nest - and instead of just spraying some herbicide into the room, you also had to slay the giant moth because it had carried the dude with the ID III bracelet off into its nest to lay eggs on, or something. That would have helped pad the end game out a lot more.

In the original though, yeah the moth was largely irrelevant, except for opening a secret room in Scenario B, anyway.

Scenario B content is largely gone as well, all that really made it in was the different starting zone, X's presence, and the final bosses. There's no B story to either character.

Yea was gonna say most of the B side stories and gameplay segments are gone. Was looking forward to doing Leon B after Claire B until i realized this just now. Its the same scenario with what? 1 or 2 extra boss fights?

The least they could do is make a spider-fest bonus mode :steamhappy:

it's possible to see them in one of the DLC Ghost Survivors story OR see them come in the Resident Evil 3 remake. I am arachnophobic and I get creepy crawling feelings when I confront them but it's always satisfying to destroy them with powerful weapons. Though I guess it was too much for the internal playtesters since the RE engine brings out the visuals of the zombies and monsters in stunning details.

B Story existis after finishing the game and "exclusive content", but some contents were scrapped.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The only enemies I can recall that poison you are those weird blobs in the sewers.
