How to reload the chemical flamethrower?

I've got 600 worth of flame canisters and I've just got the upgrade for the flamethrower that allows it to fire for longer, but I can't reload it. How can I reload it?

400ammo for it is max, you reload the same way with any other guns, square/the left button on xbox controllers. x or y. idk.

What I mean is, when I try to combine the fuel with the flamethrower it isn't compatible, and yes I have 400 max and another 200 spare.

You cant combine ammo on a weapon to reload. You have to manually reload by pressing your reload key.

1-You don't "combine" ammo like you could in PS1 games, you have to manually reload your weapons

2-400 is max capacity for Flamethrower. Fire a bit and you can reload after that.
