You don't get 9mm ammo from pickups in B. But you can just toss it in the storage bin until you start getting enhanced ammo and the body upgrade to make it closer to the magnum.

2nd run starter guns get no normal ammo unless you make it with gunpowder, you do still find high power rounds for her gun though. Better get used to that quickdraw army.

Yea i had same issue, on the other hand i had tons of ammo for the uzi type weapon which i used all through the last part of the game...

I couldnt even figure out the gunpowder combo for that ammo type

It's good ONLY after THREE upgrades, after which it essentially becomes BEST handgun since it allows you to use TWO types of ammo interchangeably, firing and reloading speed increases, AND head-shot Crit chance rises to roughly 95% when aiming steadily (it's 15% by default and up to 45% if aiming steadily with a non-upgraded weaponry).

You WHAT, m8?
Acid is one of best rounds in game, since it MELTS away (damage per second, like fire does) AND it has high probability of melting the head away (thus completely killing) if you aim steadily at the head from up close. It was like this in original BIOHAZARD 2 and Last Escape, and it still works pretty much the same in B2R. Also, acid makes zombies' hands fall off WAAAY easier/faster (and completely armless zombies CANNOT open doors/follow you into other rooms anymore).

I mean, you do you, but 4 acid rounds is not worth it compared to 70some smg rounds

The SMG ammo is a better investment

SMG sucks ASS right until it gets a suppressor (and it gets that quite late, so SMG sucks for a pretty long time), since Mister T gets aggroed by firing sounds (by other sounds too, but it's mainly shooting that makes him *THUD THUD THUD THUD THUD THUD THUD THUD*) very easily and ESPECIALLY if there's a lot of them in a row (same with Leon's fully upgraded Matilda - it's BAD).

Both of you people clearly don't know/get at all how to play this game well, so don't bother """""answering""""" me with any of that crap any further. I'll ignore you/won't read otherwise.

The amount of SMG ammo you get is huge when compared to the amount of acid rounds you get. While acid rounds can be useful for crowd control, overall SMG is a better option.

Ignored. Just like I've promised.

You get about 9 magnum tier rounds for it when you collect its upgrades, so it can be useful at the end of the run for dealing with the final final boss. Every little helps. But yeah for general use its totally worthless and should be left in the first box you find.

Imagine doing a no item box run with that useless thing in your inventory the whole way through. Ugh.

Also the SMG is a killer. Insane DPS on that thing, it's definitely your "save until the end of the game" weapon, although I found it hard to balance that with the grenade launcher, Claire has a lot more juggling than Leon, for sure. Where Leon would find MAG ammo, you typically find SMG ammo for Claire, so that should probably tell you something.

Also Acid Rounds seemed to suck, I couldn't find a single use for them that Flame Rounds didn't do better. Even against zombies (although why would you use them on zombies) Acid Rounds take like three hits to kill them, although one shot does pretty much melt their arms and legs off.

Maybe it does huge DoT even more so than the flame rounds.
