Re2: Lighting issue
Hello all,

Since starting up RE2 I've been having horrendous light/dark problems. Areas in which there are adjustments in light or ambiance my screen gets dramatically darker to the point where I cannot see anything except lamps in the distance. This is most prevelant in the police station hub. Areas that are dark, like the hallway to save the officer that gives you th notebook for the statue puzzle, were't that bad, but when leaving there and going back to meet Marvin, the changes from dark to light make my gamma dip and darken the screen to nothing, it'll bounce back and balance but it goes in and out.

Upon other simple test I stared at a soda machince which was brightly lit, then a wall with picture on it (no lighting) and watched as the screen continued to darken. I ask for assistance because I am not adept in setting and what will help or won't. I have tried messing with the game setting, lighting, shadows and all the basics. I also tried adjusting my monitor settings, contrast and gamma but it never made a slight difference. Details in mind, I'm using a TV monitor that is probably around 7 years old, Sanyo brand 32in err, and my PC specs are Intel i5 and 1060 GTX 3gb. Only had it for about 2 months now and this is the most challenging game I have played yet, graphically.

It's early in the games launch so I'm not sure what to make of this problem yet, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I found the culprit to this darkness nonesense, It's caused by your graphic's being too high, and the usage being too high makes the game dark for some reason, If your limit isin't orange or red, it should be okay.

So just remove and turn off graphic settings you don't need, until it's not dark anymore

It just means your pc can't handle the current settings, i'm pretty sure

Op, disabling screen space reflections may fix the issue for the most part.

I've not seen that one before. Have you tried verifying the integrity of the game files?

I see I see, I will utilize this as well, thank you!!

When I was adjusting my settings it old me I had no VRAM at all, so it was red the entire time. Granted, it says I should have 12GB for everything maxed, and I have 6GB, which basically means I'd need a Titan to fix a simple lighting issue. I've never had this problem in other games that want more VRAM than I have, and my card is more than poweful enough to handle it.
