Thanks! Now the game loads, but still breaks as soon as the first cutscene starts
- Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809
- Security Update for Adobe Flash Player: February 12, 2019
- February 12, 2019—KB4483452 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7.2 for Windows 10, version 1809 and Windows Server 2019
- Update for Adobe Flash Player: October 9, 2018
I haven't looked into what exactly feature has been updated in version 1809 but if you still have the same issue and you're on Win 10 (Pro). You may want to update the Windows and see if it works.
One change I noticed after this update is I can no longer change the volume of the game by the hotkey on my Corsair K70. While the hotkey works fine in other games. Obviously it's not a big deal compared to the back screen issue, but still annoying. Let me know if you have the same issue.
Wish you guys have fun!
First i tried my home anti virus which did nothing. Then i went on windows defender, i allowed RE2 on "private" (originally it was checked for both private and public so i turned public off). Basically, i was messing around the settings of firewall and when i turned off firewall i opened RE2 expecting a crash as soon as i click on the client but the game didn't crash. I then just quickly changed the settings because oddly it was on "red" which is when the game is turned up too high and can cause crashes and changed it all to "low" for now. But yeah that's how my one worked. Its not gonna fix for a lot of people but i don't know why it worked. P.S ignore my grammar mistakes lol
I'll start with my config:
Motherboard: MSI X299 SLI PLUS
Graphics Card: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X
CPU: Intel Core i7 7800X 4.1GHz
RAM: 16Gb Kingston HyperX Fury 8/2 2400MHz
OS: Win10 Pro 64bit build 1809
Seems like a problem is a software conflict. I tried turning off all Services except those who can not be turned off. I tried removing the Nvidia driver. The only solution I found is to boot in Safe Mode and then the game works fine. The only problem is that Safe Mode doesn't have any video drivers to play well, so I can not call it a final solution. I deleted basically every useless software I had and it didn't work either. I think I will continue to search for the solution, but I'm kinda tired of all that so that may happen after a while. But if you can try to find that conflicting app/service/driver, please, share it here. Thanks.
Intel Virtualization Technology
IVT
AMD-V - if you have and AMD processor
Those are not all names of that feature, so you can google, how to turn off Virtualization in your motherboard's BIOS.
Hope it will help.
3 weeks later...and still no fix for this game breaking issue the game is unplayable...Nvidia have released 4 driver updates since and none of them have fixed this issue...how much longer must this continue?
