Anyway to unlock earlier using VPN to change location?
hey, was just wondering if anyone has found out a way to unlock the game earlier using a VPN to change their time zone. Gotta work pretty much this entire weekend starting Friday, so I'd like to play it as soon as possible. Thanks

Well that's just how steam works, unless Capcom have done a miracle.
That is NOT how Steam works this is a common misconception.

changing your region by using VPN is againts the steam law, you are not allowed to use VPN softwares on Steam for any reason
If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account.
section 3A, last paragraph

3. BILLING, PAYMENT AND OTHER SUBSCRIPTIONS
A. Payment Authorization
You're wrong, Its for billing, You cant BUY the game in another region for cheaper, No one says you cant VPN to play it early
"You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content

'geographical restrictions' You wont download a game in china that is banned and can get you sent to jail, Like how some places in europe censored games?

It depends on whether steam cares enough to do that and to bypass vpn or ignore sudden changes in location. Because you gotta realize it's not steam that cares about when the game gets released, its the publisher/developer. But they don't run steam. So they can't really do anything. So really it's up to steam. So does steam care enough? Dunno.

Try it with VPN while you disable steam first, then relogin into steam when you get new location.
If that doesn't work maybe try with third location, log out, go to 3d location, and then change your location in store settings THEN try it.

THATS LEGAL CLAUSES that A do not need to be enforced B are like to not be enforced C not everybody at steam agrees with D are only there probably for very specific cases E the most important, do not need to actually be enforced automatically via steam code.

If its not enforced automatically who will 1 care 2 know. (that's assuming this is wrong to do in the first place and I don't really think it is)

I tried to use VPN but when I changed my IP, I was prompted to make the pre-load again, but yet a little popup window said that "this game isn't available at your region" (tried using German and Japan IPs). So I think there's no way around, feelsbadman

How would having a virtual private connection over public network help you to fake your location? You'd need to use a proxy server for that.

Yes VPNs do work, I used them to play fallout 4, and couple other games early. I used tunnel bear.
