Not sure that the Claire A/Leon B is actually anything official at all. It's just what "fans" came to conclude when you look at how the story unfolds compared to doing Leon A/Claire B. This time however, with so many modifications to the game, it could play out the same, or it could be entirely different. In the original game too, Leon had weapons that were more fun to use.

My first playthrough in '98 was with Claire first, mainly because I just wanted to replay it similarly to how I did the first game: Jill was first.

Both leon campaign and Claire campaign happen at the same time of the day. There is no point.

It's the scenario where Sherry get's infected, that's why it's canon.

Again, there hasn't been anything official. It's not official canon via Capcom. It makes the most sense when played that way, but if anything it's only fan canon.

Claire A/Leon B is canon. RE6 Sherry was infected by G which does not happen in Leon A/ Claire B.

if i remember correctly, when i played it on ps1: leon first then claire==> easier. if claire frist then leon==> harder...(i think the boss encouter was harder--more advanced mutated boss??)

Claire A, Leon B was the canonical route for the original game. But whether the events of this game will line up with canon in the same way remains to be seen.

It's really not important to worry about which order is canon though. Both possibilities will be consistent with themselves, and neither is out of chronological order because they ostensibly happen simultaneously.

Shows you which Resident Evil I never bothered to finish. There was never anything about which order to play Resident Evil 2 was correct at release, and we had to wait for some random reference fourteen years later in the worst mainline game....

in the original it was claire A, Leon B as thats the only scenario where sherry gets infected as mentioned by others. In the remake and going by capcoms own words about the zapping system being gone (even though they say that but the game has proof that is in atleast to some degree) then there is no chronological order and both happen at the same time.

Leon and Claire's scenario begin at the same time, they're both chronologically synchronized. There is no "correct" order or "incorrect" one. just like RE2 they wouldn't design it so that you can make a wrong decision

The correct order, is to pick you favorite character for the first play through and then pick the other for the second go around; after that you can play the alternate modes for either character as you prefer...
