(Don't Mention Remastered Version) = Triggered, can't handle facts, dumb.
Resident Evil was remade in 2002, the HD version is just the 2002 remastered version, RE2 is getting remade because it never ever got remade before, why would they remake RE1 again? it doesn't even look that bad, shutup lmfao #owned
Ahahaha! OWNED!
Yes. I was 8-years old and it was 1996. It was acceptable. Videogames in the 90's were expected to have cheesy dialogue and bad voice acting. Budgets were quite low, videogame technology was still in its infancy (especially the newer generation of consoles, the PS1, which was revolutionary and experimental) and the people writing the dialogue were computer nerds - the same people making the games.
Another important factor in the cheesy dialogue that you have to seriously consider... is that the dialogue was written by Japanese people who didn't speak English. The (amateur) voice actors then had to read the scripts given to them. I imagine the voice actors (who were Canadian/American) also thought "hey, this dialogue doesn't sound quite right, this isn't the way any English-speaking person would say this particular thing".
Maybe in Japanese "You, the master of unlocking" sounds perfectly normal and correct. Translated directly to English it sounds ridiculous, but a translator working to translate text for a videogame company in the 90's does not say "Hey guys, this sounds kinda silly, do you want me to clean it up for you?" the translator just translates it and gets paid.
All these things are worth consideration.
Well, RE2 and Nemesis were still during the cheesy era, but the dialogue and voice acting did improve. The dialogue in RE2 was just as cheesy as the first, but the quality of the voice acting was a definite improvement. RE3 was another improvement over RE2.
Then, in Code Veronica, they took a step backwards. Steve Burnside was an outrageous character with an outrageous voice actor, back on par with the outrageous characters of RE1. The crazy laugh guy was a whole new dimension of ridiculousness never seen before, not even in RE1.
The first remake was for the Gamecube while the second remake (the HD REMASTER) is the second, which was release on several platforms including Windows.
So in actuality, a third and proper remake is what we're after which will be done in the RE engine.
Just thought I'd educate all of these people trying to talk like they know everything about RE1's remake history when they clearly haven't done their research.
P.S. I don't normally come off as arrogant and "Mr. Know-It-All" but you guys really set the mood and I felt that it was time to set the record straight.
Thank you
The only remake was for the Gamecube, then that remake got a remaster in 2015. You're still confusing things. Remaster is just the same game but with better textures, FX, resolution, controls, etc. It's a Remake when the whole game is completely recreated from scratch.
Wrong and stupid. An HD Remaster is not a Remake of the game.

Do the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ homework correctly already. People are sick of you noobs who don't know the difference between a Remake and a Remaster everytime one of these two is put for sale.
That was hilarious to read because you were wrong lol. Please do everyone here a favor and don't ever try to be a "Mr.Know-It-All" again.
Actually there were things in the remastered version that weren't in the Gamecube version. You'd know that if you fully (or at all) played both versions.
You should try actually owning the games before preaching about them.
You can see in my profile how I played, and completed it. And the differences you're talking about are things like the BSAA costumes and achievements, which don't change the game. Adding some extras to a remaster doesn't turn it into a remake. Or do you also think the old RE2 has been already remade just because some versions added Extreme Battle, Hard Mode, Art Gallery, Arrange mode, etc.?
