Mr X ruins this game
I watched all the video on how to avoid Mr X, etc. But still having to play with this unkillalble thing that follows you everywhere and you can't do almost nothing it's not fun imho.

The game would be better without this crap

Still is annoying as ♥♥♥♥ more than anything else. Calling me an idiot over an opinion dosen't make you sound any more intelligent. I just hate when that kind of mechanic is added in a game. Completely breaks the flow of the game. At least in the original, he only showed up in scenario B. So you were already kind of familiar with the place. Now, remake is dark and a lot of things changed. Having this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ show up while you're trying to figure out stuff is annoying as hell.

And yes, he is meant to be a creepy stalker. Except he adds nothing of value to the gameplay. He ain't threatening. He ain't scary past the first 1-2 times you see him. He is just there to be a massive annoyance and a waste of time.

Acually, do give him a rocket launcher. Do give us a reason to beat him down a bit... You know, in RE3 beating Nemesis at least had the bonus to give you access to some goodies you cannot find otherwise. That is the only saving grace for Nemesis that gave it a "miniboss" appeal.

Does Mr.X has anything comparable to offer other than being there for the sake of pissing off people?

Uh yeah, the game without Mr X would be waaaay too easy since you can just juke zombies and only kill lickers (except for that hallway where you get the tool for the library). Say you manage to kill every zombie and licker in the station and still have ammo, then the game becomes even easier and super boring since you have nothing to do except solve minute lenght puzzles, Mr X comes in and destroys your sense of peace and brings tension into the equation. You can either shoot the hell out of him or lose him in the station, it makes you think of a better strategy to evade this guy and manage to finish these small puzzles. Dude i managed to beat the game with the all male zombies are Mr X mod and even then it wasn't as bad as you say.
Without Mr.X, game would be waaaaay too easy? Yup, sounds to me like a stupid way to fix a problem. Also, Mr.X bringing tension is kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I don't feel dread, I don't feel threatened.. I only feel annoyed every time I see his mug. Does feeling annoyed falls into "tension" building in the right way? I mean, I honestly have more chances to ♥♥♥♥ my pants out of rage than anything else.

"I beat the game with X mod" Who ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ care? Flexing your gaming muscles won't make Mr.X less annoying. Him being easy to deal with dosent make him less annoying either.

Mr.X is only here to force us out of puzzles and make it artificially more tedious. Instead of making him such a ♥♥♥♥♥ they should have given us a more extensive and deep scenario instead of making such dumb (And lazy) choices and still managing to cut a good part of what made the original great. Making both scenarios feel almost the exact same.

Stop deflecting back the argument toward "difficulty". Difficulty has nothing to do with this ♥♥♥♥. It is only annoying for the sake of being annoying. Again, AT LEAST, Nemesis added something to RE3 (Even if he was annoying too. But still.) Mr.X adds absolutely nothing but tedium for the sake of it.

How is Mr X tedious? Come the ♥♥♥♥ on dude, you literally just run away and problem solved. Did you even read all i said about strategies to minimize your encounters with him? When i said i beat that mod i meant that not even 50 X's are as annoying as you say he is. Come to think of it, it would seem like you don't like challenge at all

And me here waiting for RE3 Nemesis Remake to have an even faster enemy with a bazooka to hunt me down.
:steamhappy:

Tbh, I would like to have Mr X on RE3 Nemesis just to have him teared apart by Nemesis when Nemesis start hunting me, this would complete the experience and definetly throw Mr X to the thrash bin he deserves.

Once you know how Mr X works, it becomes rare to have encounters with it and the encounters are usually meh (less when you get bad luck and the game decides to just throw him on your face by teleporting him on the other side right when you open a door).

I think Mr X doesn't teleport except for cutscenes, he just roams the station. If we get RE3R you'll get your wish granted but it won't be this Mr X, it'll be one of the other tyrants dropped in Racoon City, in fact, you can see a dead Tyrant in RE3. i guess X couldn't give it to him.

I am pretty sure the game teleports Mr X here and there from time to time . . . he is slow af, I get away from him, like leaving him on the other side of the station ... 10s later he is almost behind me or "on the next door in front of me" . . . that is no way he could have got in front of me (neither behind) so fast with his speed if the game dont just teleport him (I know, for cutscenes the game just place him there no matter what, that is not what I am talking about).

Sometimes he runs a bit faster, you can see this when he kinda bends himself forward a bit, then he punches. There's a video on youtube explaining his behavior, you can sometimes see him going through doors on the other side of the station.

yes but he dows that when he have the player on sight. Out of his sight, after a time you leave his fight, he get back to slow walk again.

His fast walk is not as fast as the player run speed either, and for him to get "behind", some 5s or 10s after you stop, he would have to be following you around full time at his max speed, not considering when you left his sight.

I made experience on the main hall, he stop his power walk (or fast walk) when I go down stairs and make a turn, all I need to have is some 10m distance and doing a turn or two ahead of him, not even considering the fact that I can see Mr X and obviously he should be able to see me, but from time to time he gets lost from me on the main hall, what confirm he kind of stop after 1 or 2 turns on corridors or entering doors.
Through the doors he enter, sometimes he even enter fast, get back to slow walk again then lock on you and restart the power walk again, what also confirmed to me that he do the power walk when he lock on the player.

Another example is . . . when he chases you to safe rooms and he just dont enter, just wait by the door playing peek-a-boo.
He leaves the location after a time and you can hear it, but sometimes he just vanishes, nowhere near there

Aggravation does not equal good gameplay. All of these nerds on here defending this mind numbing BORING game need to get a girlfriend. RE5 was the best game that has ever came to the series.

RE5 = worst RE game by far.
Correct.
Right after 4.

Mr X is the only thing that makes the RPD part of the game any challenge at all. He has to be in the game. He isn’t hard to avoid and walking instead of running means he won’t hear you.

He doesn’t ruin the game, he adds to it. This game is “survival horror “ not the run and gun of RE4 and beyond

I loved RE5 due to Co-op being added. RE4 was a huge revitalization to the series. RE6 was okay with Co-op, boring solo.

If by "revitalization" you mean massive "random zombies everywhere" (where L4D do much better) and "quick time events inplementation since the beginning of the game" . . then yes, a nice revitalization, but RE was not about that and should not be about that.

RE4 still a Resident Evil, with the nonsensical addition of a lot of random zombies and QTEs, but RE5 is down the pit and RE6 dug down the rock-botton of the pit
L4D and L4D2 are much better than RE5 and RE6 and much more fun to replay too.

you can just download a mod to remove him. But this game without Mr X is like, 50% of your experience removed. Your Choice i guess.

i can't understand this... with Mr X you can't run, when there are other zombie you can't shoot them. If you try to shoot Mr X to earn 30 seconds of peace you will end up losing all your ammo...

I can't understand why someone is happy with Mr X
You can't understand, because you don't think outside the box while playing. You're a casual player. I have no problems downing mister x with the zombies still in the library on Hardcore.
