Also it's like game telling you "Good job!" because you didn't spend a bomb or lose a life to clear the spellcard.
Green stars are bomb pieces/bombs. Pink ones are lives.
Some games also have a spell practice mode so you can practice an specific attack. Sadly, that doesn't exist for non-spells.
Some games it was worth it because you get a life for specific # of score. Also I forgot, this game does reward you straight with a life piece each spellcard you capture, so absolutely go for it.
well, I managed quite well capturing them then as I try to never use bombs (I don't even know which button is for bombs so that's a given too xD). Took me quite some time to defeat that bloody maid at Stage 5 though on 1cc (normal). Stage 6 seems more bombastic then difficult, it's just the "wow" effect that still gets me at the end, but the maid was the most challenging one... Darn, I spend days to get past Stage 5.
Please try using bombs, it'll make the experience a lot more forgiving, they're not instawin, so use them freely.
heh, ye I know... but I kinda wanna earn my way by just dodging all them bullets xD. I might be a bit insane, but got to Stage 6 atleast so far. I prolly will have to start using them on higher difficulties to get by, though.
If it helps, there is an intendd mechanic called "deathbombing" which basically refers to using a bomb the first 0.6-8 frames you got hit
If I'm right, it also gives a score bonus lol althought I'm not entirely sure
Like most games, you just gotta play a lot to get used to certain things. Deathbombing is pretty precise, I don't think most games without some extra lenient timing people do it really on reaction, it's usually relying on just that feeling that you're about to take a hit here. Basically bomb when unsure if you can handle the pattern.
oh I tend to know most of the times I'm about to get hit just before getting hit... I think that bloody maid from Stage 5 gave me some PTSD. I think I even had a dream of her...
(I wouldn't usually complain of dreams containing anime maids visiting me... but this one in particular gives me a fright every time I go through Stage 5. There is something of her attacks that just keeps mesmerizing me)
