Save State
Not sure if it is me or what but the save state does not appear to be working. I saw some posts about it but not a fix, unless I am not digging deep into a solution. I click on save, give a name. Come back hours later and click LOAD STATE. It always seems to bring me back to the start of the mission, not where I saved it at. Guess they are working on this. Any answer would be grateful. Thank you, be safe and be well.

That's strange. Which capsules are this?

Thank you for playing our wonderful Sim, Can you be so kind and tell us what program are you playing (Apollo, Gemini or Mercury)? In which phase of the whole mission are you trying to save states? Indeed is a work in progress, but we want to improve also the current phase of the sim, currently you can only save at certain mission stages, for example if landed on the Moon, then after you load the mission back will notice that the Lunar Module is in another place. Is that what you referred?.

there you can ask me anything, keep in orbit Reentrynaut!:steamhappy:

Mine was the Mercury sub orbital mission where I had to perform various attitude manoeuvres within the time limit. I was struggling so I saved just before I had to start the attitude tasks ( so I could reload from that point rather than doing the whole launch sequence again ). But when I reloaded that save it placed me back on the launch pad at the start of the mission.

Indeed there is not a middle point state here ... hmmm.. is not a glitch, it is not implemented yet ..

Save-states are implemented, and have been for years. This sounds like a bug, so I'll log it on the trello.

@Hector-Melo - Mine was in the Gemini. It was the Scenarios mission on the rendezous with the other Gemini. I wanted to save at a point where I made it and was looking at them. I thought I could save and continue on later. I also tried just doing a plane Free Play Mission, practicing take off and landing. Always seems to bring me back to the very beginning of the mission. In my case at least, once you start a mission, you gotta stick with it to complete it but if you have go run off and do something else you have to restart and go through all those steps again since it will not save correctly. Gotta run.

at that stage will always loads at the same position yet, in the future you will be able to load at different stages trough the sim ..

No, if save-states are being made in space and loading to pad that's a bug and not just a missing feature

@the_student - Thank you.

had the same issue just the other day with the Gemini rendezvous.. so far it's not really a concern as I'm not completely up to speed and I don't mind re-launching.. if it was say, an Apollo mission though..

Let me try to reproduce. The Scenarios and the missions that start in orbits is made using the Save State feature. It basically just loads a state, so it should be similar.

Could you try:
Load the Gemini scenario 4) Docking Training
-> Does this load you on the pad?

In any Gemini free play that starts on the pad, can you ascend into orbit, perform the insertion checklist, then save, and try to load it again.
-> Does is load into the same orbital position? If not: Can you send me the save state to petriw (at) gmail.com?

@wilhelmsenstudios - OK I did the Gemini Scenario Docking Training. It did load into space no problem. Did the mission and Succeeded. Did some exploring and then saved. Tried to load the save I just made and it restarted the mission. I was in orbit but not at the point where I saved.

Roger, thanks, will try to reproduce this. How far off from where the state was saved vs. where it loads are you?
