This would be best done when the current roadmap is completed to 1.0.
Afterwards a DLC would be understandable if the code can handle a shuttle build.
That is one heck of a rude way to ask a developer to do something that was never promised, hinted at, or insinuated to ever happen to begin with...
Some people just dont have manners or tact. Or know how to use google. If you want a shuttle sim just go and get Space Shuttle Mission Sim. Its old but its VERY comprehensive.
Its a giant amount of work.
And the sim currently focus on the "pioneer" and start of the space program days.
Also the shuttle is really complex.
I played "space shuttle 2007 " and you have to click allot of buttons and checklists.
Maybe once the current game is finished then maybe the developer could make a space shuttle simulator and use some of the game code/universe ect. OR a make a DLC and extend the sim with more features.
But keep one thing in mind, this kind of space simulator is a very niche kind of thing and not a game that sell millions of copys like call of duty or some other big AAA title.
in the end it all about economy and ofcourse also interest.
But lets hope someday we get a shuttle.
( small sidestep there was some talk about a space shuttle 2007 version 2 sim, but im not sure if the project was canceled or not. But the old game still work, however its a nightmare to reactivate your key everytime you change hardware in your pc.. The developer have NOT been nice to me and to send me a new key and just say it should work as long as i have it on the same Harddisk and never unintsall it ect ect. Problem is the key is hardware locked ).
- Flight Gears Space Shuttle add-on
- Orbiters Space Shuttle Ultra add-on
- SSM 2007 as mentioned above
The current goal of Reentry is to get the basic features of the engine and the basic systems of the Mercury, Gemini, CSM and LM crafts in shape for version 1.0. The journey from version 1.0 to 2.0 will be iterating on these space crafts, as well as getting more development time on the Mercury and Apollo Mission Control modules (they are currently only in testing today, and a tool used to develop systems for the crafts), and looking into Vostok and other potential spacecrafts for Reentry.
I played a few missions of the old Space Shuttle Mission Simulator 2008 or whatever it was called, and it was very in depth, but very dated now, and had a lot of issues the worst being the learning curve, and having to relearn operating procedures when you left the game for a while. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. It was amazing experience nonetheless, would love to see it updated with more user friendly gameplay and modern graphics.
