Reentry - A Space Flight Simulator

Reentry - A Space Flight Simulator

Game vs Simulator
Hi there. I'm big fan of space games and history. more then 1000 hours in KSP. I'd love to play Reentry but there is something what really stops me from diving into it. I'm a gamer and not a big fan of simulators.

If I understand it correct Reentry is more simulator but not a game. Can you please let me know if you will decide to add some more game mechanics to make this simulator a bit more game oriented? May be a dynamic Space Race where you need to pass missions to make it first before the Soviets? Or an Astronaut career with possibility of failure of your career if you die during a mission. Or some kind of tech tree with possibility to design or craft your own spaceship for specific missions?

Thank you and I'm looking forward to play this game upon official release.

Thank you for interest in our wonderful Sim, The purpose of the Reentry Developers is to create the most realistic space simulator ever, so many features are included and more to be in the future as failures. If you are a die hard space exploration fan or a experienced virtual astronaut, you will definitively love Reentry. If realism and historic accuracy is what you look on a Space Simulator Reentry is the one that will feed all of your needs. Reentry is the only Space Simulator to include three realistic spacecrafts with each one with its own 3d virtual cockpit. So far we have included three Space programs: Mercury, Gemini and Apollo, but we have many chances for expanding this list. Here you can check the Road Map of the whole project:

Thank you for your detailed respond! So, basically, the answer is NO to my questions - there will be less of a game and more of the Sim :) It's ok, I love what you guys do, I hope your sim will be the best for the space ))) I will definitely get it on the release day

I'll check with the developer himself, but from what I recall what Hector is saying is mostly correct. There are some bits of game-esquenness, like the use of a button to install the COAS, or that all spacecraft are of a single variant independent of mission (ex, the LM always has the rover, Gemini always has the fuel-cells), or the optional assistance for docking with the Agena, + a leveling-system for flight-hours, but other than that it's pretty simmy.

Wonderfull SIM. Thank a lot for this epic simulator. i had a lot of fun last 3 days. Learned a lot. Currently i am reading the old "Nasa Manuals"...really great. As a fan of KSP i waited for exactly such an amazing simulator.
