I wonder if this is causing a delay in the comms scripting so that it all gets out of sync.
I was loading from a saved state, and although the UHF was in HI mode, the circles on the map were indicating I was in LO mode. Recycling the switch to LO then back to HI reset the circles on the map to the larger circles, and I was able to contact KNO on the first pass.
I didn't realise that the size of the circles changed with the comms mode - very impressive that such small details have been included. Usually in programs such as these the radio always works whatever mode it's in!
I did splash down though so was happy about that:)
I was having issues loading from some of the early saves I made (just after the control systems check) as it would wait an age to repeate the "control systems check complete" message, which would then delay all of the other messages.
I started the mission from the start again, and on the 3rd orbit, failed when I had a message to "stand by for ZZB" yet the orbital pass meant I didn't get in range of ZZB (even with UHF on HI), so didn't get anymore messages and therefore couldn't complete the night horizon check.
I've just loaded a saved state and a similar issue occured - massive delay in the first comms message, meaning that you having flown by the next station when told to contact them, you only contact them on the next orbit, but the messages are an orbit behind, and everything ends up just failing to work.
For this mission the daytime horizon check simply asks you to go prograde and gives you some attitude settings with a timer. You can't fail it but you need it to trigger.
I never got the nighttime horizon check to trigger.
I did this mission a bunch of times and I also had one where KNO wouldn't trigger either.
It should trigger from Indian CAPCOM if the sim goes by the transcript.
I highly recommend checking out this transcript. Very interesting read. Whoa did John Glenn have a whale of a time controlling his capsule at the end. I have a new respect for those early astronauts.

I have now solved my issue. My fault was, that I didn´t managed to get into Manual Proportion Control. The Manual from the Website helped me a lot.
But now, I´ve got another Problem. After going through the pre-dark Checklist, there happens nothing until my Oxygen went out. There is no response from the stations on the ground. Anyone with the same Problem here?
Those will deplete your oxygen quickly.
What was your time to Retro clock reading? Even if you don't get any ground station triggers you should still get the retro to occur.
My Oxygen went blank after nine Orbits with silence on the radio. After four and a half hour, my oxygen levels are the same as yours.
After my third orbit, the transcript went blank (bug?). My task is to wait until the next station. It is ZZB But this station is not on my orbit at this time (retrograde time is 1:02:07). I will fly not fly above it, for more than four orbits. The light for retrograde went on after my fourth orbit and then I splashed down somewhere over South-Africa. And that happens after four and a half orbits.
The next time I flew over ZZB my main Oxygen tank is depleted. Then ZZB control tells me, that I have to wit till IOS, which is in range after another eight orbits...
The Problem lies within the Mission itself, its a programming bug
I also could not finish it, the last night horizon check never activated and thus the mission script crawled to a halt.
It started to go wrong right from the beginning... This does not look like a sunset :P

For the dev : amazing work but please could you indicate in-game the features/missions which are not finished. It is quite frustration not knowing if it is our fault or the game's fault. :)
