Other games like this?
Looks like this game is trash. I want to know what other games like xcom but with more focus on good narrative story. I already wishlisted Hard West 2 but any other recommendations? But don't mention about Firaxis's Marvel or other card-based/rogue-like hybrid. I hate those.

Hey guys, this game is trash, where can I get more?

You might want to check out Wasteland 3 or Jagged Alliance 3.
Wasteland 3 is one of my all time favorites. Highly recommend that.
In no particular order, games with some semblance of turn based strategy:
King Arthur Knight's Tale
Wasteland 3
Druidstone
Pillars of Eternity
Solasta
Wyldermyth
Original Sin Divinity
King's Bounty series
Othercide
Shadowrun series
Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: Amulet of Chaos.

Take a look at Phoenix Point. It is an xcom-like from the author of the very first X-com.
Wasteland 3 is not under Turn based strategy game in the first place.

Wasteland 3 is under the genre of RPG and Strategy stated by the game developer and game publisher and it is clearly shown on the Steam Store Page.

even the walkthrough for Wasteland 3 here

https://www.neoseeker.com/wasteland-3/walkthrough

the person who wrote the walkthrough/guide also stated that the game is strategic RPG game.

druidstone The Secret of the Menhir Forest game itself is under the genre of Tactical RPG.

------------------------------------

pillars of eternity game series is RPG game and the latest one which is called "avowed" is ARPG game.

king's arthur knight's tale is Tactical RPG game.

Solasta is RPG game too.

wyldermyth is Tactical RPG Game

divinity original sin is RPG Game (i played this game so i know it is not under turn based strategy and turn based tactics)

king's bounty game series is turn based RPG game. (it is not pure turn based strategy game, especially king's bounty 2 since you have to run around with the protagonist around the map)

othercice is Tactical RPG Game

shadowrun chronicles boston lockdown is unavailable on Steam and it is the only game in the shadowrun series to be turn based tactics game.

the other shadowrun games are tactical RPG games with the exception of shadowrun 2007 game being First Person Shooter game.
Troubleshooter: Abadoned Children
It's a korean indiegame where you are a sort of private crimefighting squad of (mostly teenage) Espers who many of sort of look like they could be part of a K-Pop Band.

It has the non dying premade characters and story focus as well as the initiative based turn order similar to Chimera Squad but each character has multiple ways to build them through different classes and a collectible passive system (of which you can combine different ones to form sets that give additional bonus) and gear loot.

I enjoyed that game for a bit, but thats a far stretch from Chimera Squad. It's like you're comparing Command and Conquer to Starcraft.

TroubleShooters is fun, but its clunky. takes a huge time investment for the grind, plus you have to heavily enjoy anime.

actually, comparing c & c to starcraft is still fine because both are RTS games.

---------------------------------------------------------

Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children game itself is RPG game.

how can compare a Turn Based tactics games like Xcom series to "Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children" RPG game.

both are under different genres.

-----------------------------------------------------

its like comparing Laptops and desktops to iphones and androids

which is the worst comparison since the difference between handphones and computers are EXTREMELY HUGE.
they might be different genres on the first few glances of comparing lables, but their gameplay is not that dissimilar with the main differences being more indepths character building and itemization on troubleshooters part, which is a similar difference as between Starcraft1/C&C and WC3 (all RTS with different focus) if you ignore the lables as troubleshooter goes closer to the turn based tactics genre than it does to most RPGs

I agree with what you're saying, but you cannot compare something like Starcraft to Command and Conquer. CC is ancient and basic, StarCraft has transcended it's age and remained popular because it's just a better game. I'm comparing quality, not genre.

TroubleShooters is fun, but's it's incredibly tedious between missions and the missions themselves take a lot of time, while a game like Chimera Squad is smooth and fast paced.
Bro, just get this game during a sale - last time it was 80% off - that's $3.99.

Invisible Inc. is a stone's throw away, but... invisible inc.
It's squad based and turn based, much like XCOM, but it's centered around turn based stealth infiltration rather than killing stuff.

Also just get Chimera Squad if you enjoy XCOM games. It's not as good as XCOM 2, but it's still good in it's own right with unique things about it. Like the other guy said it's genuinely 4 dollars on sale. It's not hard to reach your money's worth for that price.
