Breach abilities and items
I am not talking about the explosive charges and card .. these are clear. If agent has it, you can put him as first person to breach point which is allowing it and you are golden (works for Claymore and his skill as well).

Phalanx, Alpha Strike, Battering Ram, etc. should work at whatever position on the breach the agent is, correct? And you get them as an option next to breach fire and cover rush(not Battering Ram of course).

But - when you invent these late game breach items (the panic grenades or the grenades disabling enemies weapons), how do you use them? They go to the breach item slot but I was never able to get them as an option to use them during the breach? Am I missing something or it bug?

That last one is a bug I'm sure, position 2 or 3 it says "not able to use in this breach position" I've taken to ignoring that and clicking on the grenade.

I am not even getting that error message ... they just do not show up during the breach.

The throwables for breaches are only usable in the second slot of a breach point. They're selected when you're setting up who goes where for the breach.

You click on the crosshaurs beside each character on a breach setup and they appear in a drop down menu.

The same goes for Terminal's healing option. Or Patchwork's scanning. Although those work in slots 2-4 and not just 2.

These are used after the breach when your squad begins to aim at the different enemies in the room

All breach grenades need to be used with the agent next to the door. They throw those into the room, so you need to be in the 2nd position.

Yes ... but the problem is, that the crosshairs are clickable ... this is not intuitive at all and the game does not tell you to do so :)

The problem for me is that it seems to function only on SOME breach points. When you can use them then yes, it's always by placing the agent who has these items equipped on the second breach slot.

But sometimes the game will not allow you to use these items regardless. There's at least two missions where I noticed that I could not use my breach items (in my case it was the Holo Grenade and the Cease Fire Grenade) after I saved them up for the third and last encounter in the mission. I had a door with 4 slots, and explosive breach point with 4 slot, and a vent or sidewindow, and the game would not let me use my breach items when I tried to select them. It simply stated "Item can not be used at this breach" (or something to that effect).

It's either bugged or there is some seemingly arbitrary limit on which breach point allows these items to be used at all.

Also sometimes the UI tells you that you cannot select an item but you can ...

The medipatch can also be used in 2-4.

you're right. I think they tried (as in, there ARE a lot of tooltips)... but there are still a great many significant tooltips missing from the game, which makes it seem more un-intuitive than it actually is.

Well it does, but it is left to chance. When you give Terminal a breach grenade for example and put her in the second slot, the menu pops up on its own, because then she has 2 options for you to choose from. Her healing or the grenade. That happened to me right away by coincidence, that's why I "always" knew about it.

I've noticed this especially with Axiom. His yell he does when he is slot one only works if the entrance is a main door. No other entrance allows him to do his special option which is crazy.

Someone should make a mod that adds more options to more entrances. Within reason of course. No putting breaching charges on a window. lol
