Too bad this game seems to be intended to be some sort of 'bridge' to XCOM 3.... (Check the ending)
There's 'tongue in cheek' and just lame.... Too often in Chimera Squad it are just lame jokes.
This is seriously annoying the ♥♥♥♥ out of me in every franchise, be it Star Strek / Star Wars ... be it Fallout or ElderScrolls... and now you guys here...
Excuse the rest of us for spending our money and enjoying the game. You guys are not the ones to tell us what we are allowed to have fun with.
As a nerd I have to say that you are actually 100% correct.
As a side note, logically the faceless would be the single most likely alien to pet or own a cat. In fact, they are uniquely suited for integration in human society, as they are already able to mimic human behaviour, manners and speech perfectly. They are also smart enough to understand the value of appearing cute, instead of as horrible brooding monster. This is a non-issue. Just pure salt.
That's just the character writing rather than the world building, and yes, it does come across like it was written by a fourteen year old on a cocktail of anti-depressants and energy drinks trying to replicate the script of a particularly bad Buffy episode. It's just about bearable after you bench the more obnoxious members of the squad, but I still find myself hitting 'skip' more often than not.
Outside of that though the world as presented seems to be fairly familiar XCom territory. It's just a shame we're seeing it through the eyes of children rather than adults this time out.
(Come to think about it, a fireman who can easily regenerate burns sounds pretty handy for rescue jobs.)
Ah, that makes sense
I too, find the visage of the Dark Lord of Hell, Satan, adorable.
Seriously though. Anybody who thinks that soldiers are 100% serious and edgy 100% of the time has never met a real soldier in their life.
Nice reductio ad absurdum. The problem isn't that they're not grimdark, the problem is that they sound like a bunch of adolescents rather than colleagues, let alone those involved in law enforcement. It's perfectly possible to write office banter in a comedic manner without making it sound like your characters have yet to experience puberty; see for example The Office, The Thick of It et al.
I partly blame lets players for this , they have a huge influence nowadays. They tell whats good and whats bad in a movie but in the end , its all personal opinion.I for example quite enjoy the star wars prequels , i really like them ..most people dont so i got some flag for that because they are "bad".
There are so many examples for this and its sad.
Maybe a Faceless character will be playable in “XCOM 3”? Let's dream.
I mean it depends on party composition. Terminal is one of most prone to joking agents and Cherub is really naive. So I guess for more seriously minded people, the tutorial party might not be super great :D Also do know that vast majority of them aren't actually from military background, they are people who joined the resistance vs advent meaning its pretty plausible lot of them don't have military disciple.
But yeah, on the other agents: Torque snarks a lot, Axiom is pretty serious, Claymore jokes somewhat but in more subdued manner, Shelter is awkward but serious, Patchwork doesn't seem to joke a lot so far, Blueblood is prone to talking about his old days as a cop(he feels like old timer), Zephyr is brutish.
Really that is bothering you? A random dude complaining about posters? Only crying and hissing if something does not fit you.
Some people don't even realize they act exactly like the behaviour they criticize and all of that at the same time.
It's mindblowing.
