Console not working

So I activated the console with -allowconsole, I can see the debug console menus in the main menu but I can't actually activate the console ingame to activate the cheat code, when I press the Key above TAB, nothing happens I don't see the little black box with green letters.

I pretty much clicked on all the keys on my keyboard, nothing works wth

Try the '\' key - that worked for me... 'Console' is a single line at bottom of screen, BTW

Ok must have something to do with my keyboard being AZERTY, but even when I switch to English it still wont work...

Guess I'll just wait for the trainer to come out.

I managed to make it work by makeing a shortcut for Xcom chimera squad , pressing properties on said shortcut and adding -alllowconsole at the end of the target field. It should look like this D:\XCOM-Chimera-Squad\Binaries\Win64\xcom.exe -allowconsole Loaded my save and opened the console no problems. I didnt press on any of the menus that are on the main screen Hope it helps i could send the link to the website but idk how steam reacts with me posting links

You have to start the game from shotcut and not via steam , what steam launch is not xcom.exe but the game launcher. that why your -allowconsole doesn't work because it pointed at launcher instead of the game .exe

nothing works for me, I have the debug menu. But no console at all. azerty or qwerty .
I miss something .but what.

Same...nothing works for me either. I see all the debug tools at the start but no button will pull up my console.

Mine was not working whatsoever till I turned off the GeForce Overlay, see if that or a similar overlay is bugging it!

I disabled the Geforce overlay and it's still not working, but I saw someone said that adding -noRedscreens after the shortcut fixed the issue, so I'll try that next.

Wow that's such a pain, but eventually, i've found a way to make it work with AZERTY keyboards too, without changing the whole system language. Just to clarify, changing the system and saving the game in US will make any save impossible to use with your native language, which is incredibly stupid by the way.
Well, what you have to do is to use these shortcuts to switch between AZERTY and QWERTY, once you've entered the game with allowconsole parameter.
Shift + alt will switch to QWERTY, then you can open the console panel with shift + ² (basically ~ in QWERTY)
Once you've made the changes in game (reset unrest with SetCityUnrest 0, or extra credits), turn back to AZERTY with Alt + shift shortcut. Then you can save your game with your native language without braking the save. Hope that will help some of you guys
