[Question] Cover Rush?!

Hi folks,

so i wondered about the option cover rush, it seems to me it does nothing just as you skip the action during the breach. tried to breach multiple times the same encounter and used it and didnt used it. still the squad runs in the equal awful positions doesnt matter what selected.

i thought cover rush actually makes the squaddie run for some good cover position in after the door breached but nope, just standing in plane sight for half the baddies to shoot me... is this a bug? did someone has similar experience or other?

Extra Note : did someone else find it also bad that these "trained" squaddies just head for the baddest cover? i mean why crouch behind the couch when there is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wall next to it...

It's meant to be used if there's a lot of aggressive enemies during the breach, so if you're unable to take them down you get get a defensive bonus so you're more likely to avoid taking damage.

I came here to ask this very same question, so thank you Explodium! It sure would be nice if there was a tooltip in-game that explained what this action did, and what benefit you got from using it.

No. All squad members have the ability to do cover rush, which will hunker down instead of shooting, whereas Cherub's makes him immune to attacks and forces every aggressive enemy at that breach point to shoot at him.

I find it usually better to shoot instead of rushing. One or two enemies (and their attacks) less are better than a little cover for me. Bringing the special breach items is also useful (the flash bomb for example, which you can research).
